Double edged sword though. Gardai bought a load of them - kills any desirability they might have if there are too many of them.

    See also: Ford Mondeo mk3

Yeah, Mondeo and Avensis sales were kilt (intentional sp error) by the Gardai having them.

The only reason the general public and the Gardai favour these cars is they take savage abuse, fook all servicing and still keep going strong.

Why would ya bother with either otherwise? ;)

That's been for sale for an age. The seller also has an equally hilariously priced Camry

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

was just going to say, it might be time warp condition but it's not one bit desirable. don't think there's much of a fan base for old 626's. i reckon half the asking price would be a struggle.

A neighbour had a lovely one new in 1991 in wine with chrome alloys. CLASS

In other news, if a car is exported to Ireland but never registered here does anyone know if it can easily be reimported to the UK again?

That generation 626 were nice looking cars back in the day.

I still love that style of shape at the rear end of a hatchback

like the Audi 100 influence on the styling with the doors*

*ive never seen reference to that before - so assume its just me that sees the resemblence

I've been told wine helps so I'm currently half way through a bottle.

I looked at a 2001 Civic 1.7 coupe today. It was nice.

Jaysus I dunno man, but I'd be thinking there shouldn't be an issue, if it's still on Uk plates and hasn't been registered here. Would it not be the same principle as someone who brought their car over here on holidays and returned back to the UK.

Talking of cars for sale for a long time. This one is for sale for nearly a decade and has been here on boards in the past.

How in the name of god does he expect anyone to pay nearly 5k for a 1k car.

If you ring the VRT crowd, I'm sure they would be able to clarify things for you. Sorry I can't be of more help!

    pretty damn sale proof.

what exactly is "GT" about it except for the 1.8 engine? inside and outside it looks exactly the same as a 1.3, to the layman anyway.

also a 1.8 with just 115bhp, 0-60 in 10 seconds only capable of 21mpg... what an absolute dog that must be.

Hah, poor fecker, although I'm sure he knows well why it isn't moving!
Someone should ring him and see if he seriously still wants the guts of €5k for it! It was updated 2 days ago mind......

You can get a 1.5 Honda civic of the same vintage for peanuts that has the same bhp as that Mazda and also does 45-50 mpg.
