    10 minutes is plenty

That's good :) I'm very impatient and would normally just lash it back into the tyre but I'm not that sure I got the puncture properly this time!

    Back up and running :D

    Thanks for your help gents:)

    10 minutes?
    I'd hardly leave it 1!

I've gotten flats, had the wheel off, sanded, patched and back on in about 5 minutes before. Just filling a 700c wheel with a tiny hand pump take the time. :p

Went out to the car this evening after work, went to open it and nothing. No door unlock, no interior lights, nothing. Battery completely flat dead. Interior reading lights wouldn't even turn on. E38 to the rescue! Jump started in 30 seconds, got me out of a right jam.

Think it's new battery time, looks like the original, 9 years old.

For some reason the batteries in BMWs just die like that after a certain number of years. You'll get another while out of it if you get it fully charged but best bet is to replace.

When it's going back into the tyre immediately then it's fine but I though that I might have patched near the hole not the actual hole and didn't want to find it flat again at 8am tomorrow. You must be a lot more practiced than me, takes me about 15 to 20 minutes!:P

The only thing that takes time is letting the solution dry for a few minutes before applying the patch. You're wasting your time otherwise putting a patch on the solution straight out of the tube. Doesn't work at all

    E38 FTW! :)

BTW I have a sneaking suspicion that you're a bit attached to her and having trouble putting her up for sale at all. ;)

When you're caught in the rain coming home from an 100k spin you learn to move fast. ;)

I you're worries about missing the hole, leave loads of glue around the edges. I that patch doesn't get it the glue will get you home. :p

    Talking about sticky stuff....ahem.

The rubber strip around my door is coming off a little, whats the best product to rebond it back to the metal?

Windscreen bonder or tiger seal IMO.

Just wear gloves and have IPA or surgical spirits handy to wipe off any excess

Something amiss with the hamsters alright.

Number of unread posts keeps flipping back to start of session count; clicking 'Last Post' sometimes brings me to top of last page, etc.

I nicked the link from the vaping forum as their was a deal on isopropanol. Special on microfibre cloths and polishing pads. May be useful to some members.

    :)
Police at Dover Docks nab driver who replaced suspension with tennis balls

A driver who decided to save money by replacing his suspension springs with tennis balls has been fined.

The Opel Vectra was stopped at Dover’s Eastern Docks and inspection by Port of Dover police officers revealed the stack of balls where the springs should have been.

On September 4, the case was heard at Folkestone Magistrates Court and Rumen Petrov, 34, from London, was convicted in his absence for using a vehicle with equipment likely to cause danger or injury.

He was fined £350, ordered to pay £50 costs and a £15 victims surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three penalty points, and he was fined £175 for a lighting offence.

“Clearly the effectiveness of the vehicles suspension system had been significantly compromised and posed a very real risk to the driver, and other motorists,” said Inspector Neil Care.

“Petrov intended to drive to London and taking his vehicle off the road has no doubt contributed to road safety, not just within the port but throughout the south-east.”
