    it's not the worst and when I was drinking it back at the start of the year Dunnes were selling it for 50 cent a can

    Exactly. Takes the edge off. Just the merest suggestion of a resemblance to beer. But at €0.50 a can in Dunnes Stores, it'll keep me going for another 9 days, and is probably the cheapest isotonic drink available on the market.

    How do you know it's isotonic? Looks like the labelling is in German.

    It's just a generic term which means that the particular drink (or product) contains similar salt and sugar levels to the human body, so is absorbed quicker. I just like the taste of hops.

    German lesson #1

    isotonic = isotonisch

    I hope that wasn't too complicated :)

    Pre DCM sale prices on maltodextrin. I've enough now to put a family of pixie's in rehab.

    :confused: Maltodextrin? That's just sugar.

    Is it banned?

    I can't see how or why they would ban it. It's in a lot of food products. I take it for recovery and as a complex carb. It really helps the uptake of nutrients after a workout. It's also good for a quick energy boost on a long run. It's really only artificial glucose.

    Edit: I'm pretty sure the gels that team sky use have maltodextrin and nearly every other gel on the market.

    Driving home in the wind and lashing rain, navigating floods as I make my way to the house, determined to get my run in.
    Change into my gear, look out the window and the rain hops off the ground.
    Right, lets do this - ah I love having a treadmill at home :D

    Been at a 12hr a day conference every day this week and wrecked. Managed to haul ass out at 630 this morning to squeeze 5km in b4 8 am start at conference. Feel so much more alive today. I never get used to be the ability of running to perk you up. It's not hard work (mostly), those endorphins are a very addictive drug!

    I'm sick of water protest videos, personally. Facebook is polluted with them.

    Munster, just now. Fantastic comeback from 23-7 down at half-time, they won with a last-gasp drop goal 27-26 at Sale.
