I've ordered one, but as Allyall said earlier,no guarantees regarding delivery, so if you order no point in coming on here whinging if it's not delivered, that said dispute process on Aliexpress is straight forward.

Just ordered two of them, not sure why but I see myself tuning each one from a €20 box into a gift for a family member with XBMC and all the tweaks etc which they'll place a much higher value on.

Or else I'll just sell them on Done Deal :o

The same box is for sale on Amazon for £94 http://www.amazon.co.uk/FiveSeasonStuff%C2%AE-Performance-Supported-SportsDevil-Jailbroken/dp/B00IR2BYDK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1413900083&sr=8-5&keywords=Q7+CS918+MK888+RK3188+Quad+Core

    Very basic question.

My Minix NEO X8 box arrived today.

I have powered up the box, linked it to the TV via my HDMI cable, turned on remote control in settings on the box.

I then downloaded the official Minix remote control app on my smartphone in order to get a qwerty keyboard to type my wifi password. The official remote control app will not locate the IP address of my box / pair with my box.

What am I doing wrong? How do I get a qwerty keyboard on screen? / how do I pair the remote control app?

    Thanks.

Is Bluetooth turned on on the box? Does ot connect by Bluetooth?

The app should have step by step guides much the same as pairing Yatse to XBMC.

    Problem fixed thanks.

In a nutshell, Yatse works. Official app won't work. Yatse does the job.

You couldn't use the official app to type the wifi password as the app needs to connect to your box over ip.

Make sure you downloaded the correct version of the app. There are a couple. The app works fine with my box. You don't really need it though if you are using xbmc and yatse.

Raspberry Pi B+ , install XBMC System ( I know, he said android but this is better in my opinion ).. less than 40 euro and a decent processor and 512 mb of ram. Great deal.

hey - i have a minix x8-h and im currently running IPTV from vdubt25; channels work great...epg never works and as someone has already mentioned there is no recording functionality.

Is there any PVR frontend/backend combo for Gotham 13.2 that actually works and has recording functionality of live tv??

Really appreciate any help; pulling my hair out as all seem to have "connection lost" when i enable the PVR add ons.

EPG does work - perhaps double check the URL.

Hi Xbmc users, is there on add-on maintenance tool, that allows
    deleting of cache,
and setting up unlimited caching, which I think is zero cache.

    Thanks

Yeah, install Xunity maintenance, 0 Cache is in the tweaks section, and clearing cache is in Maintenance.

Might have found out why they are selling that box off. It is using the old RK3188T processor in it.....still as mentioned it was good little box for me

Just seen the replacement one on GearBest
    http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_79506.html

Looks a good spec box when you compare to the Minix X8-H

Yeah, install Xunity maintenance, 0 Cache is in the tweaks section, and clearing cache is in Maintenance.

I done this last week, after I set the 0 cache I had loads of issues. Very choppy playback and about 20 mins of playing and then it would drop back to screen and would have to restart

I got pi**ed very quickly and ended up scrubbing the box, flashing the new firmware udate and starting from fresh, still building back up XBMC :D

I think I am going to build back up the X8-H and then sell it on......so anyone looking for a box give me a shout :-)

Might try one of these: http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_79506.html
Or actually looking at the following: http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_94470.html
Great value and spec looks good :D

Whats the alternative to setting the cache to zero ?

Letting it run as it is, I didn't have any issues. Sometimes I got error that cache was full but it didn't stop anything playing....most of the time a quick reboot and error was gone. Usually got error about cache after not rebooting for over a week

Went to BETA 9-2....don't notice any real difference, apart from image changed on boot and seems slower to boot but still running ok....not great

Had issues last night loading unity

I was supposed to have one of them last week, but something happened in shipping. I'm expecting it in the next couple of days.
I have since read some not-so-good comments about it on one of the Russian forums using Bing, so I'm not looking forward to it as much as I was. But I'm also hoping it didn't translate properly, because of the way it was worded.. :)

I also have the other MXq on it's way over, beside it.

Assuming all the delays are over, they should both be here before or on Friday at the latest, I can post which (if either), I think is better.

If I let it run I would be stuck with annoying buffering problems

Just adding this thread re caching

Looks like careful thought required before modifying cache

Yep same for me, so should be here in a couple of weeks!

What is the best custom Rom to install on these?
