tc20's images are wonderfully hi-res meaning there is a great amount of detail in the pictures, yet if they were to be hosted as per normal bb image hosting they would probably have their IMG tags removed so users with poor connections could continue to browse without experiencing extra lag (try using boards out near Summerhill for example!)

Personally, I see nothing wrong with just attachments. It gives the end user a chance to load up what they feel they want to see be it just one photo or all. But the attachments have also been renamed to what vehicle was spotted which is more than what most of us do!

I say keep up the fantastic spotting and posting, I always look forward to what's out on our roads from yesteryear :D

    Fair enough dude.

18 year old Citroen Xantia in good nick! Most of these diesel Xantias went to farmers who dragged them up and down ditches!

    2.0 HDI with 90bhp lolz!

I did indeed, couldn't turn it down at the price it was at - and I'd never forgive myself if I passed next week and it was on the other side of those gates (bought it from a breakers yard)

Just passed the NCT this week...what could possibly go wrong :)

I'm very jealous. And now I want you to PM me that yard!

A few spots in Albufeira, Algarve. Just 3 for now but took a few more but have phone problems, will try to post them too.

There were loads of older cars from 90's / 00's. On way to airport I asked the driver about it, it seems they have no problems insuring older cars there and in fact pre 2006 cars are cheaper to tax. Driver was 21 and his insurance is E400 for his personal car which was a 2000 I think he said.

There was many many older Mercs especially 190 (W201) and C Class (W202), a little less W124's. I asked why, he said in the 1950's if you had a horse that was a big deal, you were the Jonses! In the 1970's it was a car, then the 1980's a Merc!

    It's a FIAT Scudo pickup.

You can just make out FIAT on the back gate and the "DO" on the right hand side.

Ah yes now I see it. Fingal County Council use these. Well they're FIATs anyway.

A bit like the north, I read somewhere that outside of Bavaria it has the highest number of BMWs per capita.

Great car, should be in the classics thread.

Great car, should be in the classics thread.

The odd thing I post here tends to be in the classic vein rather than the older daily driver that we probably wouldn't yet consider a classic (eg, 405, Polo Mk II, XMs, Bluebird etc). I wanted to ask those who visit here, is there an expectation that we shouldn't post "classics" here, but just those rare survivors of one common place cars? : )

I know some of yous consider aul' Carinas and 626s as classics, so we might end up with a heated debate as what constitutes a classic and what doesn't. Cheers.

I'd say feel free to post your pics in either/both sections. Imo the "oldest car thread" does lend itself more to humble models that keep on rolling in daily service, but it's nice when you see a rarer or more exclusive car in daily mode. As you say yourself, what defines a car as an out an out classic is subjective.

Cheating as I seen this the other day but you’ve got to admit it’s in pristine condition for its age. Liberty Square Thurles
