I remember the one time I got bullied at secondary level I got no help from anyone(different times I guess!!). Anyways I got to the end of my rope so I confronted the bully and made it clear if he annoyed me again I was going to come at him with everything I got. I said I don't care if I get hurt but I'll guarantee you won't see it coming and you will suffer. The threat actually worked and I had no hassel after that day. I know this might not be suitable for all situations but thought I'd just recount my own experience.

    Lucky feckers.

I am looking for that stuff for to put on a laneway to my house. If you spray old diesel on top of it, it helps to reactivate the tar in it and then you can roll it together with a vibrating roller and it will stick together lovely!!

It does indeed but the day has to be fairly hot too

You would want to be good to get planning in my neck of the woods . If I need one though ill give you a shout , the local lad is fond of the sauce and doesn't like answering the phone so he is out anyhow

Only spotted that today. Went messing around with the future milk projections, with my current number of replacements, and existing cull rate (19%), I'll only have about 60cows in 2015 ha, and supply about 250k. Something totaly amiss there tho! Maybe one or two errors in the program yet?

Have a young HEX heifer, 4 month old.
Seems very depressed, no temp at all.
Savage appetite but getting rake thin. No bad scour although loose dung, normal colour.
Has been done twice over summer for fluke and worm. No coughing.
Seemed dehydrated when I brought her in.
Grinding her teeth a fair bit (usually stomach?)

Brought her in two weeks ago and gave sulpha powders for three days and she seemed better, but within a week went straight back.
Plan to get vet out later in the week.

    Any ideas folks??

The grinding of the teeth is normally a sign of serious pain as far as I know. I'd be rushing up the vet's visit on this one.

No diagnosis for you though unfortunately

    BVD - was she tested?

Had a second calver get really thin in June/July and when the vet was testing, i asked him to take a blood sample. It came back clear, but he made up a dose for her and 24 hours after getting it, she passed a massive, massive tape worm. She had been dosed regular. She has been putting on condition since!

    Vecoxan and maybe bimastat?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,408 ✭✭✭bbam

    Thanks guys.
She got Vecoxin first time she was in as I thought the scour was black enough to warrant it. No signs of blood in dung and she's not pressing at all.
    She is BVD tested.

She's eating and drinking for the moment, vet later in the week will tell a story.
