Anyone on here have a wood pellet boiler? How does price compare to oil, and are the pellets easily available? Is it worth changing from oil to pellet, or just go solid fuel?

Have a solid fuel cooker here which heats rads water and house is always cosy. Small barrow of sticks and a bit of turf keeps it goin for the day. we were told we were old fashioned putting solid fuel cooker in new house but wouldn't part wit it.

    Would it be air-locked?
If it is, would there be an injector to open line on the boilers?

Well you'll be able to manage if the power goes out, unlike us "Modern Houses"
Solid fuel is nice, bit of hard work at times (draw in & out) but ash is very good for the garden

Have an outside any fuel burner here have back up inverter and 12 volt battery attached. The inverter charges the battery when the power is on and cuts in as soon as the power goes. Never used it yet but the burner is the best thing ever. Barrow of sticks and shovel of coal does the day no ashes or dirt inside.

Like the 12V battery idea, but how long would it last if the power was out.
Other thing is once it's not being used, would the life die off anyway?
Lots here with generators set aside just in case, but just get left there & additional fuel gets used on something else.
