if you get paid your say DA payment for 2013 in Jan 2014 does it still go down in your 2013 income for taxation purposes?

I Always declare the year I receive
That is not saying that is right
I think if you want to go down the route of declaring it for year it was due you have a more complicated set of accounts declaring all due and prepaid for both expenses and receipts
But what do I Know about it

It is up to what suits really I be inclined if it was in the account before you deal with accountant to declare it in year that it was aloted to however there may be reasons why it may be more advantagous to treat it in the year paid if for instance you were making a tax loss one year and need it to make a profit the year it was paid to finish the tax cycle.

It a bit like outstanding checks if you paid a cheque and it was not cashed until by the holder until following tax year then you can treat it as an outstanding payment.

The little Rottie pup is asleep in the utility room and she had decided to start snoring her head off tonight. I can hear her in the living room . She sounds like Mr. Snufflepagus, for those who are old enough to remember him.
I was hoping that a bitch pup wouldn't snore but it seems I was very, very wrong :(
