I'd be amazed if they sell out. These group stages are a cod. There is a lot of football for very little jeopardy. They're selling a 3 match ticket bundle but haven't even announced the 3 dates yet. The sooner they change this format to reduce the number of games and increase what is at stake in each game the better. The action won't start until the knockouts and you won't see sell outs until the quarter finals.

I think as draws go this wasn’t the worst outcome, not much by way of travel and plenty familiarity. I would have preferred Tyrone last but that’s ok. Decent opportunity to broaden the squad now, get some rest into Murphy.

Agreed that it’s a terrible format, and will be glad to see the back of them…however I feel that Jim will most likely strive to top the group to avoid the preliminary qf for a week’s rest as the teams coming out of the prelims almost always lose their qf. Our bench has strengthened, but our depth still isn’t great if we start to pick up injuries along the rest of the series. It’s funny, if you had a decent lead in the old money, you’d empty the bench to give the stars a rest, however it’s hard to fathom what constitutes a decent lead in today’s environment.

It`s a better group than the one we would have been in had we lost the Ulster Final, but it`s still tougher than the other two groups. Not that I would for a second even think about sacrificing Ulster for a handier group, but from how crazy this format is for the AI Championship we would have been in a better position by losing to Monaghan who are in a group with Louth, Clare and Down.

That said, seeing as we are where we are. Tyrone first game gives us home advantage wheras last would have been a neutral venue, and I`m happier with our away game being Cavan than Mayo.
