Immediate plan is to get the mileage up and after a couple of weeks I think I will look at starting training for a 10 km. Might do the Run for Boylo. River Moy half is coming around a bit to soon for me but might look at doing a half later in Summer. I need to be aiming for something or I tend to be a bit lazy!
Don't we all. Best of luck

    Sun 29th march
    knockmore 10k
    47.50

Have'nt got out for a run all week due to unforseen circumstances so felt rusty this morning. First 5k was into a serious headwind. Found this tough but kept going and crossed the line in 47.50. just short of 2 minutes faster than mattie carden 3 weeks ago. Happy with that.

Its a PB for this year 2015. Overall PB was in the same race last year with 44.56. Different day weather wise and spent a lot of y/days race on my own where last year i paced it with 2 others. Still happy out.

    Sun 26th April
    Run For Boylo 10k
    48.01
    Average pace 4.48/k

I have really been a bold boy lately. Very little running in the last 2 weeks and as for my diet don't even ask. So were better to start back than a local 10k. Started off sound but made my first mistake at 2.5k where i powered up a hill. How many time that i have been told to climb hills at a steady pace but what do i go and do. Happy enough at the 5k mark. Splits 4.37. 4.40. 4.49. 4.38. 4.53. Another hill just after the 5k mark and off i go again powering past people. Another climb just before the 7k mark and by the time i passed the 8k mark i was beginning to tie up. I cursed how i powered up those hills and all the s##t i ate and drank lately. Found the last 2k tough but got there in the end to cross the line in 48.01. Splits. 4.46. 4.46. 4.55. 4.58. 4.51. This race really was the kick up the arse i needed to get me back in line. I may sound a bit harsh on myself but i am capable off much better if i just put in the work. A line has been drawn in the sand. Todays performance was a reflection of my current fitness which is almost 2 minutes slower than last year. Your going to see a lot more regular updates on here from me because i found that is one way to keep myself motivated.

    Tues 28th April
    5k steady pace
I have decided to give the moy half marathon a miss. I have'nt got the millage done to do the race in comfort. If i ran it i would be running the risk of doing damage to 2 very fragile knees. I going to concentrate on 5k and 10k races for the forseeable future. Plan to start back doing the local parkrun as much as possible again.

Had planned on running at least 10k but left calf got very sore in the last k so cut the run short. Probably the best thing to do. Was really enjoying the run though.
