Rashercake is going on my list of things to try at least once ... along with Baileys on Cornflakes (instead of milk).

Baileys on Coco Pops is amazing when you're still drunk :D:D

Ugh rosewater. Perfume flavoured cake basically.

Plenty of Odlums advertising, I would have much prefered if they had Catherine as a judge.

    Ah, the famous Battenberg cake......

    Ugh, hate the almondy outside..........

Is this where the 'medicinal' comment comes in then?
Rosewater in cake is gak, in raspberry jam it's surprisingly nice though!

I remember it the mammy could never make me eat it.......:D

I remember Geraldine Brand coming to our school to give us deportment lessons and advocating Rose Water as part of our skin routine....

No-one ever heard of it in those heady '70's days......:D

I am getting a little worried at the way they are beating the dye into the mixtures, I hope they don't over work the flour, the cake will be very heavy if this happens.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,255 ✭✭✭✭leahyl

Yeah I never really cared for it to be honest, this friend of my mum used to always bring one when she was visiting

I've never tried Battenberg, I always nagged Mammy to buy it when I was a kid because it was a pink cake :) She never did though so I assume it's not to most people's tastes? :pac:

These Kerrygold ads are ridiculous. Why are we watching the same thing again?

I was thinking she hasn't aged a bit......

She is still a gorgeous looking lady...

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,177 ✭✭✭dee_mc

In tears here, my mam is talking to the Kerrygold lady after each point - 'you said that before', 'you said that before', 'yep you said that before too', in her most peevish voice!
Seriously though, why are they repeating the same ad?!

I bought carrot cake in honour of watching this tonight, but it is like feckin bread. Disgusted! I am definitely baking next Wednesday.

I loved Khaled's cake. No to battenburg but yes to all things nutty!

I wouldn't mind 'Bad Biddy' a couple of weeks down the line, but it's a bit rich (pun attended!) on the first challenge!
