And saves the best till last:

"Then as God as my witness, I'm gettin' back into showbusiness
I'm gonna open up a nightclub called "The Tree of Forgiveness"
And forgive everybody ever done me any harm
Well, I might even invite a few choice critics, those syph'litic parasitics
Buy 'em a pint of Smithwicks and smother 'em with my charm".

Nice bit of Rory after "Anois ag a naoi, Nuacht an lae"

    Had to go after that.

As they say on the Liveline thread, "was it worth a listen back?"

Lads who follow auld Turnip Head like the Messiah!

Now only messing, he’s a good operator, very professional, but not my bag as a ‘go to’ spot on the dial.

But realise of course it’s whatever floats yer boat.

    :D

The. Show was a tribute to John Prine. People enjoyed it. Nothing "strange" about that.

Oh was that it.... didn’t know.

Can I withdraw any implication of anything strange about that and apologise to all fans.

Delighted people enjoyed that, never heard of the lad but my bad.

    Nothing derogotary intended.

John was a big fan of John and because of John's love of John over the years, other Johns (among others) developed a love of John and when John very sadly passed away John thought it would be nice to acknowledge his love of John by paying tribute to John so that other Johns (among others) could share.

All a bit strange rightly enough.

    No worries Brenner.
    You should try ringing liveline.

" I didn't hear it myself Joe but it was a disgrace." 😀

Don’t be trying to rise a row Joe.

I’ve had enough shade thrown my way this morning.

Absolutely not my intention. There's a lot of places on this site where the dust can rise at the edge of the square, but this space isnt one of them. I dont think things are usually meant to be taken too seriously around here.

Apolgies if offence taken, was really meant in good spirit.

I know that Joe, only messin, just determined not to get into a row today.

Humble pie all the way, Joseph.:D

No need for the pie brendan, i don't have you down as one of the thin-skinned ones.

You could always self-isolate here for a little while, allow the waves of blisssful turnip worship wash over you. Let all the cares just ebb away. Just a thought anyway ☺
