surprised that you haven't gotten some kind of useful reply yet. i've never used a setup like this myself but it'd be something i would consider in the future

There seems to be a new lamp out that alot of people are using called a Nightmaster 800. No experience with it but it seems to be the favorite for the time being.

what about the led lenser p7, i see them advertised with scope mounts, never used one though,

keep me posted on what you go for,:D

I have and used a p7 good for 150 yards at its limit doe with good battery's. the only problem I find with it is the battery's last for ages alright but the good power gos out of the light after an hour or 2. So you need to keep the battery's fresh in it.

Wildhunter single battery, and a Lightforce 140 scope mounted lamp. You could go for the Wildhunter lamp (cheaper than Lightforce), but cannot recommend them as i've never used one.

I use the twin battery pack, which i altered by attaching shoulder mounts to, for easier carrying. It's heavy but works fine. If i'm not inform for carrying the two i take out one battery, and will still get a few hours out of the single battery. I have a mount on the rifle scope, and can attach or detach the lamp at will, and it'll give me a good 700+ yard beam, and clearly visible out to at least 400 yards. My lamp is also adjustable so i can focus the beam which is handy.

I rarely go out solo, but even when with a buddy i bring the scope mounted lamp and battery pack so i have it. The kit i bought is over 250, but from wildhunter themselves it's between 150 -200 for their own branded stuff.

    Be careful with the LED Torches;

1 make sure they can be focussed (no "orange peel" reflectors)

    2 I go by the battery - CR123's x 2 (or equivalent) at a minimum.

Take a look at these, but be careful which model you buy - the A10 is good.

The N11 Outdoor store in Bray stock a HID lamp high intensity discharge.

I bought one. It left my Lightforce 170 in the dark. Superb lamp.

I used to rate the LightForce lamps as the dogsdanglers. This lamp is good.

You lads are a long way behind the curve.

If you're buying a stock nightmaster then buy it from the USA or Oz.The UK version is the same thing but at a bend over and lube me up price.

If you want something better again then check out Onestopthrowshop + their sub forum on candlepowerforums.

The one thing I ever agreed with Mary Harney on was this, shop around.

Google, research, and patience are your most powerful friends. And for Gods sake find out what range in yards/meters you can SEE something at, rather than this lumens bull****.

Looked at those nightmasters. What are they like compared to the p7. The only problem I have with the p7 is the batts aren't rechargeable. With he batts not dead but the power gone out of the light if they were rechargeable it would be far more efficient.

Scope mounted lightforce did I see somewhere you can get a handke for them.

Be sure when you are buying one that your silencer wont be glowing, my friend bought one set it up and had to take it back cause even with a sock around the silencer it still would blind him when looking down the scope.

So what causes that or what to look out for when fitting it.

If you have a thick/big silencer the glare off the lamp will bounce off the silencer, and when you look down the scope twil throw you off, just make sure the lamp glare will suit the silencer or the the silencer will be small and suit the lamp. Great tool and would love to hear feedback on how it goes. Too much accessories on a gun wrecks my head personally, scope, silencer and legs are ok! You will start blaming all the ****e on the gun if you add lasers and lamps believe me.

Once its fun any tawny that's what it's all about.

I suppose its down to the height of the mounts the size of the bell on the scope and how long the barrel is I suppose.
I haven't come across this problem yet but I suppose with a wildcat or similar on the end of the barrel it would prob be a different story.

the mod i have would cause that prob too, must give it to you to try out, if you like,

Seems that the lightforce 170 variable is still the best compromise of performance and price, I'm in the market for one myself at the moment and think its what ill go for.

If u put a bit of tape aross the bottom of your oblective bell( obviously don't stick it to the glass) you can block the glare , it will stop a bit of light but not much and doesn't effect your field of view
