    thank christ for that.

And with Yates coming back it makes perfect sense for him to stand in for Kenny.

I dont actually HATE Healy, its just he seems so god awfull in every slot theyve put him in so far. they just dont suit the guy.

maybe they should slap him in an entertainment show or something cause the serious stuff aint working. i mean he seems WORSE now than when he was doing the lunchtime show and its the same fecking guy !

Pretty sure he's one of those "political junkie" saddos. He's a misery guts so I wouldn't put him anywhere near an entertainment segment.

I'd imagine he's the head of the local residents association. Right at home on a bingo bus gossping about other people's problems.

I actually do at this stage. It was bad enough when we had to suffer him through that "Bart's People" show that he used to present at lunch time. But now NT have been using him as some sort of utility presenter, filling in (and p1ssing all over) some of my favourite shows. The Sunday Show was great with Coleman, he just takes over with all of his own allusions and side comments. They had him filling in for Pat Kenny, and the same oul guff out of him. And even when Pat Kenny is presenting, they have him doing pre-prepared reports for the show, dripping with that same sarcasm and facetious boll*x that he always goes on with.

I'm sure he thinks he is being funny, but he's just irritating.

Isn't it ironic that all discussions on speaking 'as gaelge' are conducted 'as bearla'?

yeah but if they did them in irish 99% of presenters wouldnt be able to conduct the discussion, never mind those of us who wouldnt have the foggiest listening

Hurts me to say it, but Ivan makes for refreshing listening after Pat and his various stand-ins. Says something about Irish broadcasting when a part time broadcaster/business man/ex.politician shows the rest of them up.

A worthy replacement at last. :)

I actually think this slot would really suit Ivan! Pat should be very careful allowing a worthy adversary to fill in for him.

Ivan is a breath of fresh air.

I think he could stroll into pretty much any slot in the Newstalk schedule and be better than the incumbent(s).

Oh lord Jesus Christ. Not this f**king idiot again.

I'm actually going to listen to Tubridy, yes, that is how bad it has got.

And why don't Newstalk ask the CBS about the success that is globalisation and freedom of movement in Sweden?

Is that more of Donald Trump's "lies" or did the incident actually happen?

I'd pay good money to hear him present Global Village ;)

Ed Sheeran proves the masses have no taste, says a texter.

Well, that's what they used to say about Abba, and look what happened there says Pat.

Yes, the masses were proven to have no taste, says Donie.

Pat was having a go at his guest for not having the sort of politically correct opinions that are acceptable to NT, and it blew up in his face.

Pat (said in a Jonathan Healy type manner): "But you have been married four times, did the women get tired of you or what happened?"
Guest: "Well.... two of them died".

Ah I think that's a bit unfair. He was obviously going to challenge him over what he said but he was respectful. The guest actually came across quite well and while I don't agree with all he said, he was allowed to explain his points well. Better than Piers Morgan just roaring at him last week. Good show this morning so far

Newstalk regularly hosts those with right and even far right political views. George Hook has a two hour show every weekday that is just basically an uninterrupted opportunity for Hook to have his rants about ‘political correctness gone mad’ etc and has regularly featured Michael Graham a right wing American chat show host. Interviews have been carried on other shows with people such as Katie Hopkins. The idea that Newstalk censor or suppress right wing views is nonsense. There is no conspiracy to silence right wing voices. Give up the victim complex already, it is beyond tiresome.

As to the guest in question, the man is an avowed sexist. He is a gombeen of the highest of order. No amount of wit or charm excuses the fact that he is a dolt.

The interview with the rape victim and rapist was fascinating. I thought Kenny's interviewing skills really shone.

Newstalk has a 5 hour lefty/SJW agenda starting with Sean's show at 2pm followed by Chris and Sarah's Drivetime. Pat's the most balanced in the guests he has on. But you would wonder why posters listen to George and come on to his show thread and complain and make fun of him and tune into his show the next day! If you don't like his views change the channel.

no they don't. sjw and lefties don't exist for a start, and newstalk have a mix of political views represented.

it's called having an opinion. i thought you are all for people having an opinion and are against any attempt to shut down discussion and silence opinion?

ticking a box on a form does not make you of a religion.
