He is using a projector. He must be projecting from behind the screen otherwise he would create a shadow on the screen. I have triple screens and its way better than this. I actually have a projector too, but even though its 106", its nothing at all as immersive as having the side monitors, especially as mine are really angled and totally fill my entire vision.

Ah so he is. He is just basically sitting right in front of the screen then? Ive a 60" plasma and did that with GT5 ages ago, it was crap compared to triples, not even a tiny bit close. This video is kind of giving an optical illusion because you cant see past the TV, but in real life of course he can.

So it's just a massive TV, the camera angle makes it look more immersive than it would actually be in real life because it doesn't wrap.

VR still seems like the king.

Ive been watching VR like a hawk since they started on about it and was so excited. I just don't think the FOV and the resolution is there yet. Nevermind the hardware to run it properly with all of the bells and whistles.

Im never normally one to ponder about PC hardware choices, I am an early adopter for sure, but Ive been holding back questioning the point when I know its not going to live up to my expectations.

I remember the first time I played BF3 with triples. I have 3 X Dell U2711 IPS screens. It was pitch dark in my room, I had black curtains set up so nothing reflected light. I hopped into the attack chopper, which just happens to have the joint of the cockpit perfectly aligned with my bezels, so it felt like I was actually inside the chopper without any kind of technical trickery. When I took off and swung her around I experienced vertigo, it was a brief feeling, my brain adjusted, but I remember being utterly amazed at how it had made me feel like I was tipping over as I couldn't see anything in the room other than what was in my vision.

I just preordered the Prestige edition from Game UK there, it was about €30 cheaper than in GS here, I can't wait for it to be released.
I got myself a bucket seat from and STi Impreza and I've rebuilt my CSP's with all new boards in preparation for it.
I'm thinking the F40 round Brandshatch for my for my first testdrive!

The F40 is a handful, but great fun. I spent a week driving just that car. The yellow bird is even more mental when you turn the boost up.

I noticed in a video posted by VVV that none of the Japanese carpack-cars are included on release as standard.
It's bit of a stinger only having one Toyota to use at launch but it's not the end of the world I suppose.
I'm just hoping Game ship my copy out slightly early!

Yeah Japanese and red pack not included in launch console versions, but 3 of the 7 cars in the red pack appear in the built for racers console trailer so maybe they might release them sooner than later, and at a cheap price.
Day one patch with them for free would be class.

Absolutely, still, there's still more than enough cars to keep us happy for a while I reckon.

Lots of small, good handling cars like the Alfa GTA, Ford Escort and the little Abarth's will be great for some door to door racing online.

The little drift track will make a great spot for shakedown testing, half an hour spent hooning around it in a new car should give you a great idea of what the car's handling characteristics are.

I might even sneak a day or two off work when AC drops, presuming of course that it actually works after the day one patch that is. Here's hoping.

Can any of the PC lads tell me if it's possible for the host to disable assists in custom online lobbies please? Specifically the dreaded racing line.

It's possible to set up servers in many ways, I'm fairly sure I've seen servers that expressly ban the use of assists. Have different tyre wears and so on. I don't know how the servers work on consoles, I'd imagine that would be a fairly basic setting so should be adjustable.

I hope so, it wasn't included in PCars and it annoyed me.

Yeah heres hoping they add some sort of basic support for the fanatec's soon but I would'nt hold my breathe.
I know how he feels, I had the same issues when logitech would'nt support the DFGT or G25/G27 on PS4. Swore I wouldnt own a logitech again after that debacle.
I got lazy and just preordered on the psn store, it just comes with the 3 cars from the performance pack. Considered cancelling and ordering from game in UK to get the full prestige edition with more cars but cant be arsed. And I like the fact I dont have to get up off my ass to change discs with the digital editions!
I think the prestige edition is in gamestop in Ireland at a whopping 75 euro.....robbing b*stards.....
Cant wait until friday, I think it will be a late one! See you on Nordsheilfe in your F40, I'll bring my yellowbird

I'm hoping against hope that Game ship mine slightly early, I'm dreading the thoughts of them missing Friday and me only getting the game next Monday!
I've read a few whispers here and there of some Fanatec wheels actually working with AC on the PS4, I've also read some where the game crashed when other folk tried.

Those rear engined yellow birds are death traps man, I don't like the way RR cars handle, I predict a fiery death for you on the armco!

I'm surprised by the lack of fanatec support I always thought they had a close relationship. All may not be lost, they may ad support down the line, when Kunos say no, they often mean "I'm working on it".

The yellow bird is a hoot (in a sim, in reality I'd say it's scary as fup), but it's no match for the F40. The F40 can go around a corner fast, the yellow bird can only go around a corner sideways.

That's the word around the campfire alright.
I promised Savoury that I'd try AC with my old Fanatec before and after the patch just to see what's what.
I was on to Game UK this morning because my order is still showing as unshipped.
The guy told me that 97% of their games reach their customers by release date.
I know my own luck, I'll be in the 3% for sure!
