Very heavy rain here finally. I'd be expecting spot flooding if it continues at this rate.

Just drove home from town in what was some of the crasiest heavy showers I have seen in months, place is soaked and your right there was some patches already slightly flooded near the road past drakelands :o

A few areas reporting thunder now though nothing too organised on the radar, that band headed for me looks to be weakening as well. 22C and sunny at the moment but darker cloud starting to roll in, hopefully it might come back to life

Three flashes heavy rain and strong winds.

According to the radar it should be raining over me in Meath, but it's bone dry

Some of that precipitation the radar will have evaporated by the time it reaches the surface.

And don't forget the time delay, maybe it already passed you. :P

The speed of that cell was amazing. 15 min max and it's gone. The wind speed was very noticeable even over the thunder. My own weather station had a temp of 22.4 before and afterwards it only dropped down to 19.8.

suns out here now really warming things up. Another band heading NE through clare at the moment. The last band that passed produced barely any rain for me, enough to wet the grass, thats about it.

A bit more activity in the southwest and north now.

Nothing too severe but surprised there's not more reports here.

Black turbulent lowering followed by a violent torrential downpour with thunder and lightning!

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,739 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

    No lightning here.

However before today had received 5.6mm of rain this month, today so far it is at 7.6mm and rising.
    Very welcome rain at that.

Typical, in work now, can't head out for a look.

Ongoing storms in the southwest, west and north/northwest lining up pretty well with the areas of most energy and lift shown on the GFS chart I posted this morning.

As expected, all quiet in the east/southeast, for now anyway.
