Plus, to be part of this bankers and politicians circle you have to have no conscience. Truth or not they still walk away smiling.

No trial. Just round the bastards up and shoot them.

They have committed one of the greatest crime's in the Republic history and they receive no punishment. A bullet is too quick compared to the damage that in a bigger picture has resulted in the financial takeover of Ireland. Less then 100 years to gain and lose our sovereignty in a sense.

One of the snakes reply the tapes are ''BAD BAD BAD'' Its bad because they were made public!!

Not sure what will come out of it, but a Westminster UK government driven enquiry into the activities of the main 4 NI banks (Bank of Ireland, Danske Bank (formerly National Irish (NIB) in Ireland, Northern Bank in the north) First Trust (AIB), and Ulster Bank (RBS) has been announced.

The NI Affairs Committee at Westminster are currently taking submissions.

So, if anyone has anything meaningful which (it) is considered to be significant and can indicate or illustrate dodgy conduct or the like in NI by any of the above (same feckers basically as in the south)...... fire it off.

At least it's an enquiry, which so far hasn't been called in Ireland.

Any more news or updates on these anglo tapes? Or other news around this elite?

I read a headline on the front of a paper today on Enda Kenny and a bank or something. What's that all about?

I took my eye of the ball for a few days.

    Why can we not multitask

The problem as I see it, is most of the politicians are up to the necks in it, with some senior civil servants, and the ones that aren't, are to busy trying to kick political points to do any good. If there was a new general election tomorrow, I wouldn't have a clue who to vote for. This Quinn court case is going to be very interesting, and messy for some high up people...

    What letter

About the CFD's it was on Vinny Brown the other night

    Here's a link about it

It was clear the department wrote to Anglo about lending secured against its shares, Anglo drafted a letter for the department, the department reviewed the Anglo draft and significantly amended it so it stated the opposite to what was in the original draft, she said.

Cheers for that, But will heads roll.

The way this is unravelling, it is outside their control. They are trying to kill the story, but it looks like Quinn its in the driving seat. There's no point in him suing a bust bank, he won't get any money out of if, so he's going after the regulator, central bank and the government. This will be better then any enquiry.

goes to show what a great job they are doing at covering this up, or keeping it as low key as possible.

that letter is a nuke gone off. ANN NOLAN what the **** did you change that letter for? ANN NOLAN wtf?

Can someone in plain speak give me the jist of the letter please.

    Long story short,

The bank is not allowed to loan money to shareholders to support share prices in the bank. The draft letter that was to be sent to the minister, which was seen by senior civil servants stated that this had happened . The letter was then sent edited, stating the bank did not loan money for propping shares, which is a lie, and the senior civi servants would have known the minister was been lied to.

Basically gambling the the bank's shareprice will outpace the interest on the loan, in the middle of a downturn obvious to the rest of the world..

Great way to go bankrupt, that.

Week before Feb 3rd 2009, MoF requests report from Anglo on their lending practices for the purpose of share acquisition and CFD,

Feb 13th 2009 Anglo Draft letter to the MoF and attach a report detailing their lending for the purpose of shares and CFD, particularly for Anglo

Same day Anglo officials met civil servants from DoF and lawyers from Aurthur Cox solicitors.(Brian Lenhian is not listed as attending)

Point 8 on the Agenda is discussion on the letter Anglo is drafting. The minutes of the meeting record that a civil servant in the DoF (Ann Nolan) agrees to review the draft letter Anglo are preparing and revert with comments.

Next day 14th Feb a new final draft of the letter which specifically states that Anglo does not lend to fund CFD's.

So Ann Nolan ( Who the indo say is tipped to the financial regulators job), why did you change the letter?

Journalists, why the lack of reporting?

I'm pretty sure that in Boombastic's post, MoF refers to the Minister for Finance and DoF is the Department of Finance.
Not sure why he/she didn't clarify this instead of giving a smartarse response.
