I started doing Pilates recently, so I had half an hour to kill this morning, so I tried to do a few exercises at home. I persevered after Binky started licking my face, but literally fell around the floor laughing when she started licking my feet!

I had to stop using the Wii as the cats kept getting under my feet and just jumped the pet gate to get into the room.:D

My greyhound Josie sleeping peacefully alongside my cat Joe. In the beginning she was so keen around the cats, she couldn't relax at all! :)

greys make brilliant pets its a pity more people don't realise this I grew up with them my dad often had 15 or more

so many people think they need to be running around all day when in fact they are as lazy as sin

Toby is very keen to go to bed with us lately. Mr Pumpkinseeds went to the kitchen late last night and he ran to sit at the bottom of the stairs to let him know he wanted to go to bed, he won't get on the bed without us. He races me up at night and jumps up on my side of the bed and waits for me and as soon as he's had breakfast the past few mornings he's come back to bed for a while to warm up. Strange little cat, it's lovely to see him so settled and relaxed compared to how nervous and anxious he used to be.:)

I got my lip pierced about a month ago, and dude only noticed it for the first time this evening. However since noticing it he is determined to remove it from my face. Bad enough him always trying to take my glasses or my nose piercings out, now he has a third target! I don't think he likes my jewelry choices :(

On Saturday I took my two dogs out for a walk around town. The larger has had an aggression/guarding issue for the last 18-20 months so it was a particular joy after all the work we've put in to address this when a pack of 6-8 dogs went ballistic on him and he didn't even react to them.

On a related note I'd like to apologise to the group from the My Lovely Horse animal rescue on Grafton Street on Saturday - I didn't realise that apparently my dog can cause a group of 6-8 peacefully lounging dogs to go mental in 0.5 sec flat just by looking at them :o

I got home around 5 pm yesterday , exhausted after a looooooooong day trading not very successfully but happily still then at a distant craft fair then shopping in a large town centre... up the mountain I came, and there he was! My adopted feral, sitting in his ginger and white splendour , on the doorstep.

he does this every time now. I know it is cupboard love but it is grand all the same. Always there when I go out of the door for anything.

    Such a welcome!

Our three year old JRx Alfie hates the cold weather, he always finds the warmest place in the house to sleep/rest..which includes sleeping tucked under my arm in bed. For a quick blast of heat this morning, I switched on a fan heater for five minutes. Hours later, the small man started hitting it with his paw trying to turn it on. He does the most adorable things.

Dog made a fatal mistake of sitting on cat's chair. Cat then gave a pointed demonstration of the superior of claws as a means to implement motivated movement behaviour.

... then she decides to leave the bed, walks to the end and manages to knock the modem plug out so I have to get out of bed..... ah well..

Very exciting morning in this house:

The JRT & Kitten are now BEST FRIENDS :D running around together ALLLLLL morning. I think the JRT is exhausted with all the fun/chasing - hes picked up his stick & is brandishing it at the kitten :)

Then I went to the loo - with the dog AND kitten in tow (as you do!!) - closing my belt, hadnt yet flushed the loo, the Kitten jumps up on the rim - LID NOT CLOSED (thats a first!!) my lightening reflexes are all that saved her from a fate worse than death  Jeez, who knew kittens could move so fast?!?!?

so nameless grey kitten, who we are going to have to name 'cos I don't think she's going anywhere, found a parcel with a little kong hedgehog toy in it (the one you stuff with catnip) and stole the toy!
It was still attached to the card and she wouldn't let anyone have it, was carrying it about and playing with it. Daughter got it and removed the card, added catnip, and 5hrs later she's still running about with it!
It's soggy with drool, but she really loves it!
She runs away with it if anyone goes near and she slapped the poor dog for looking at it! (Gently, no claws, but he was very upset and is sulking beside my daughter)

I love the way that Felix purrs when he eats, especially if it's something he really likes. It's adorable.:)

So everyone demanded fed early as we have a nasty easterly knifing through us.

I came downstairs to find my two home cats staring at me through the banisters..

Put their food down as I was sorting the dogs feed..

Fed them in the extension and feral was peeping coyly round the corner of the house so went back into the house to get HIS food... leaving the door open.

He and my two are at daggers drawn and my two cope by avoiding him as much as they can and are very good at running up trees with him in pursuit.

So my boy ambles out of the door, past the feral, as if they love each other and I think, oh breakthrough! feral lets him pass then boy turns round, realises the feral is there and takes off at a high rate in utter terror,, I tell feral NO but the only reason he stays is that he is HUNGRY, You can see the wheels turning in hi head, is it worth my chasing him or will I lose my food?

Never a dull day with these five...

Have they given you the look yet? The one where they're all snuggled up together like they've been best buddies for ever while you've been worried sick that one will get killed if you so much as blink?:D I'm delighted they're getting on so well.

We had a slight emergency today but its all ok now. When the vet checked him out she said that she could not understand that given his growing list of health issues, his quality of life is still quite good.
    Made me feel good!

Kiki, my purebred Thai cat, makes me smile every day. She is EXACTLY like how all of the articles describe her - intelligent, vocal and into absolutely everything.

I have a closet where I keep small and large containers of various things; one box is for tools, one is for hair products, one is for art supplies and one is for cat toys. Whenever I open the closet door, Kiki is right there, ready to jump in all of the boxes and explore. I'm usually pretty good about closing the closet door so she can't cause a mess, but I left it open the other day and came back to find the entire contents of the cat toy box - and only the cat toy box - on the floor outside of the closet. The box itself wasn't tipped over, so she must have reached in and pulled out of her toys one by one.

Tonight I gave Ra and Tee a treat each. Ra went into her bed to eat it, Tee sat with it in her mouth then walked over to me and sat staring at me with it in her mouth. Just sat there, staring, until I offered to swap it for some jerky. I think I have been told 'I don't like these. Don't buy them again'.

It didn't happen today. But last week. Caught the two pets, cat and dog in my mother's bed.

They aren't allowed in my mother's room, never mind the bed. But they looked so cute so I had to get a picture.

The cat had a look as if to say I couldn't give a fcuk but the dog would not look at the camera. No matter how much I called the dog's name, the dog would not look and would look away. Such a guilty look.

Maybe the dog thought that if she looked away, there wouldn't be any proof.

Getting a lift to the luas this morning so herself came along for the ride. When we got to the garden, my Dad had already pulled the car out and was ready to go. Normally she has to find the perfect spot to pee. As most dog owners will know, any old spot will just not do! But this morning when she saw my Dad was ready to go, she ran onto the grass, quickly whizzed in the wind and then came running into the car, landing on my lap :D She was terrified she'd miss the exciting car journey to the luas and back :P

As part of secret santa in work someone got me a santa jacket for Frodo. This is the dog who loves his walk but cannot wait to get his harness of him when we come back into the house but he LOVED the jacket. Had me in fits of laughter as everytime we tried to take it off him he would lick our hands and push them away or run away into his crate. Strange little guy.

Two classics from yesterday. Mum was in the kitchen at 6pm and she heard the dog howling from the sitting room. Usually, if we howl at her she will howl back but mum was intrigued as the dog was alone. She ran inside to see her sitting watching the Angelus, and howling along to it :D There's a God botherer in every family I suppose!

We have a mother cat and her babies residing in the conservatory at the moment. Mum looked through the glass and saw one of the kittens flying backwards and forwards through the air. My little one (the runt), at eleven weeks, had jumped onto one of the chimes from the old clock and was doing some moves that a trapeze artist could only aspire to! :)

Accidently left the bedroom door open last night.
Woke this morning to all 3 of my cats in the bedroom with me, looking at me with their sleepy little heads.
    Bless them.
    Made me smile :)

    I love my cat.

Brought him to bed last night.

Only to wake during the night, I was lying on my side, to find my cat doing the kneading thing with his paws on my back.

Giving me a back massage, up and down my back.

Love him, love him, love him.
