Locky is a better lineout operator, Ruddock is a better ruck clearer and they are about the same as ball carriers.

Locky is at or near his peak, Ruddock is not close to his.

Certainly can't agree with that. Pound for pound Locky is one of the best carriers in the Leinster team imo

He's usually tasked with taking on very static ball and nearly always gets positive yards from his

Considering his bulk Ruddock is bit disappointing in the carrying department, although in his defense he doesn't seem to be given as much ball as Locky

    It's plainly an opinion.

Locky is one of the best around for the hard graft. Think he offers a lot more than Ruddock in virtually every aspect at this moment and time

Would you say Ruddock is a better lineout operator? Better carrier?

Ruddock is superb at cleaning out, one of the best in the squad for sure. I'd say he is a better carrier too, Locky is great for carrying close in off crap ball, but Ruddock can do that too and also has better carrying out wide. Locky is a fine workhorse, I just think Ruddock is potentially a better version.

I'd say Ruddock is a better defender but it's much of a muchness.

Never driven to the RDS, anyone able to recommend the best spot for parking?

    Thanks!

We find Herbert Park/Pembroke Park good, provided you don't leave it too late......bit of luck in it. If we're late we sometimes go in to Old Belvedere, but I grudge them the 10 bucks....more expensive than parking in the city centre for a whole evening. It'll be very busy tomorrow, so leave plenty of time.

Sky, with highlights on tg4 I'd assume.

http://www.nowtv.com/ is a website run by sky, you can pay a 10er to get 24hr access to all the sports channels. I'd highly recommend it fo anyone without sky.

Does this work outside of uk/Ireland?

10Euro for 24 hrs seems a bit steep.

I agree, but the quality is fantastic. I connect the laptop to my tv using a htmi cable, but it isn't worth doing if the stream is dodge. This looks properly hd, its gorgeous. Great option to have for those of us without sky, ill be using it for the lions test.

Fair enough - nice to know it's there. Thanks for the info.

Concerned about the lack of back options on the bench. If we find ourselves searching for a spark we could be in trouble.

Having said that, we do seem to have enough 1-15 and in the event that we're up by a score or two by the hour-mark we have some reliable forwards to call upon to see it thru.

On o2 phones you used to be able to buy sky sports for a day for 1euro. Anyone know if you still can?

Driving from the North. Thanks to vienne86 for the tip, if anyone else has parking tips that'd be great!

The little car park across the road from Kielys usually has a few spots.
Then just a short walk down through Herbert Park to the RDS.

Bewley's Hotel has a paid carpark which is pretty reasonable and only a very short walk to the RDS. Always seems to have spaces when I've used it.

It's the big red brick building on the corner after the British Embassy coming from the Blackrock direction. In the other direction just turn right after the RDS and the entrance is on your left.

I think opinions/expectations of Ruddock are largely based on him getting a cap while at U20s level. If you ignore that token cap - given to keep Wales away - he is a good player. He's not eye-catching in his play, but he is an effective lump.

Not at the moment no, but that's not the point.

You said 'Ruddock isn't nearly as effective as Locky in the rucking department' when he's one of the best in the squad. He's a specialist in this area!

Locky is perhaps ahead all being equal, but Ruddock has been in great form, and was certainly pushing before last week.

Again, he's 6 years development behind Locky, and when you compare their respective career graphs, definitely ahead in terms of where both were/are at 22.

Manky weather for today. Well, we've been spoiled the last few weeks, but naturally the few games I'm in the uncovered stands it's manky!

The forecasting tool on met.ie is showing some rain in the middle of the day, but dry for this evening. Bloody cold though.....into the winter gear.

I'm on the north side. It always rains on the north side.

Im on the terrace, never been in there before. Whats it like for the view? Would I need to get spot fairly early to get a view. Atmosphere wise seems like the place to be for games.

It's ok actually, as long as your in 15 mins before kick off it's generally fine. I usually like to be back up a bit.

Great for atmosphere alright, should be hopping tonight!
