They often reduce the price when Use By date is coming. Nothing wrong with that meat anyway. Just needs to be used on the day of purchase or soon after.

Those Specially Selected that are on offer now are way, way better than their regular tray packed beef. Had the Striploin one last night and it was perfect.

If only they were €9 permanently:mad:

€11 is a bit steep for me tbh.

Or you can freeze it if you get it at reduced price, and I think infact they are normally almost €12.00 (€11.99) :(

No matter what thread it is I'll be having a few of those Lidl €3 rib eyes! I wonder are they aged though, probably not at that price.

21 days vs 28 days on the Aldi ones, Aldi ones are slightly larger in weight but not much.

Can I eat one Aldi ribeye tonight and freeze the other one until next week or will that turn all the fat into slime when I thaw it out?

Of course you can, wont be a problem.

I.v bought the rib eye when they are on offer, and thawed them out when they are on the menu. I think that standard of
meat would have no problem being frozen and thawed.

    Aldi this Thursday is a 440g sirloin for €4 so that's 9.09/kg

In fairness Sirloin always normally cheaper than rib eye

Could be risky, you may give the extra one to me to be on the safe side.

I was just picturing all the lovely marbled fat turning into slime or wax or something if I froze it then thawed it :o

The €3 Lidl Ribeye wasn't a scratch on the Aldi one. It was nice but it lacked a lot of flavour. Clearly those 7 days of aging make a huge difference.
