And now when they have extra podcasts, one almost an hour and a bonus rugby one for half a hour, you still moan?
Suppose I'm a fanboy for pointing that out? At least something to look forward to when the world cup is over:

You must have a lot of free time.

Seriously? Honestly they can't win at the moment with some people. Either the pods aren't frequent or fast enough or now we have you saying they are too quick and not vague enough with their titles. Get a grip, if you're plan is to avoid scores until the evening then going anywhere near a podcast is not an advisable way of doing it. You might as well have logged into LiveScores and complained they spoiled it. You're either avoiding sports media to not ruin the score or you're not. In this case you didn't avoid it and are now blaming them for it.

Maybe you only listen to sports podcasts. I listen to about 3 or 4 a day of different types - movies, current affairs, comedy etc. I opened my podcast player to play a non-sports podcast and there in front of me was what happened in the Brazil game.
Most people wouldn't have seen the game live, so I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that there should be some consideration given when putting out your podcast not to spoil the game for their listeners.

I can't have been the only one surprised by Eoin - as far as I can tell anyway - being genuinely confused by what Murph meant by the term "yanks."

Most West of Ireland people, myself included, have at least 5000 of them.

I forget sometimes that Murph is the cultural link in the team to the plain people of Ireland.

I've given out in the past about their lack of pods during some days and all that, but, come on, it sounds like you are being nit picky to an extreme there. Ruined the game for you? The title of a podcast? Really? Ah heyor!

I don't think spoilers should even come into the conversation about something that just happened in real life - that 99% of their audience will already know about at that stage anyway or, if they don't, will be at least mad eager to find about. Get real. Should newspapers and websites have giant spoiler tags covering the score too? Or any other news that you haven't heard about yet?

    That's an absurd complaint

Nope, I listen to a wide variety of podcasts and if I wanted to avoid spoilers I wouldn’t click into the SC feed at all. I use Pocket Casts so I just have a tile for each podcast and have to click into it to see the feed, is yours different?

Regardless I still think this is extremely petty.

"Ep 1195: Coutinho Saves Brazil, Argentina's Horror, Messi's Nightmare, Russia And PED's" - That's the title of the podcast. Somethings this titles could imply:

Coutinho scores late to save Brazil from an embarrassing defeat.

Coutinho scores to win the game for Brazil.

Coutinho makes a goal line clearance to keep Brazil in the game.

Coutinho, whilst at the World Cup and just prior to kick-off, is contacted by the Brazilian government who inform him the villainous Dr. Kirk von Doomschaftt has released a deadly toxin into the Brazilian water supply. Coutinho has the antidote hidden in his DNA! The only thing that can save the people of Brazil is a blood sample from the mercurial number 11, which he provides, therefore "Coutinho Saves Brazil".

Coutinho follows up on a missed penalty from Neymar to score.

I enjoyed the pod, especially given they contacted Ken directly after the Brazil match, so, if you were fortunate enough to have watched the game and then listened to the pod, you heard Ken's analysis straight away.

Agree to disagree so. My initial post was just a question to see if there were any more people who were annoyed with finding out about the Brazil game this way. Seems there weren't. At least amongst the people who read this thread.

I will leave you with this question though, if they had the actual score in the name in the podcast, you'd be ok with that?

In fairness its not like they spoiled the ending to a movie. They're covering world cup every day during the week, I can't see how you can get upset about that. It's your own fault for spoiling it, not the second captains lads.

Of course its ok! Its not a movie. You either watch live or you avoid the result yourself at your own risk. A sports podcast for an event can have the result in the title. Feels weird to have to point that out.

If you want to avoid the results of a big sports event then just turn your phone off. Simple.

Nay, I managed to keep away from the Argentina result the other night, til I saw it in the bleedin chipper on the way home from 5 a side.

    Chips were nice, though.

Exactly. It's already hard enough to avoid any big result even without being on your smartphone.

Tasty f*ckers. Get the old sliced pan at the same time. Bit o' ketchup. World cup highlights.

    That was a good day.

Was disappointed not to hear Oluwashina interrogate Jon Obi Mikel at the end of the match, is he at the World Cup?

Wonder will they have that Icelandic lad on this week?

"Victor Hugo would be throwing his television out the window" - Ken's thoughts on watching France's dreary performance against Denmark.

The show earlier this week with sadlier had him discussing how if he was still playing he’d work on the referee and be in his ear to check VAR. Strange this amount of time has passed since the confeds and sadlier still doesn’t understand how VAR works.

Always good to hear Marcela's take on the Argentinian team.

Always good to hear Marcela's take on the Argentinian team.

She was great both times shes be on. I couldn't help but notice similarity's to McGregor in what alot she was saying. Supreme talent and ability doesn't make you a nice man but it is hard to take your eyes off it, the looming presence for years to come of him looking over others and the companions of who and will take that mantle from him is baffling for someone that can divide so many. Whatever ''IT'' is and not just sporting ability you just have to watch.

The story about the old Russian lady making Ken's bed on the train was great! :D

She's consistently great every time she's on. She has a sort of poetic take on the game, but she manages to pull it off, which is no mean feat. Graham Hunter tries something not altogether dissimilar and sounds like an absolute twat.

    Agreed.

I've only heard her on Football Weekly. Found her to a bit condescending towards some of the smaller (but still good enough ones like Sweden) teams at the WC on that podcast.

does have some good articles on the Guardian admittedly.

It’s rare someone ‘stands up’ to Ken regarding football but I totally agreed with Ciaran on today’s episode.
