Thought they dragged the bit about the player getting married a bit too long but the revelation after it was worth it.

I'd agree. They really could've given that segment the snip.

Thought this was pretty enjoyable. Ken really got into the whole incident in great detail.
At the time, I don't think I appreciated how big of an event Saipan was in this country, but one of the lads on the pod describes it as Ireland's "OJ Simpson Trial" which I think is pretty fitting. It's all people talked about, it divided opinion and seemed to drag on for months after.

Cacking myself on the Dart here, getting odd looks! "Does it hurt when you stroke a ball?" 😄🀣🀣

Anyone think the Dion Fanning/Ken early/Eoin Mcdevitt axis doesn't work when they talk about the Irish team? Just a boring echo chamber. No conflict or argument. Kind of pointless.

I just think that the opinions are so obvious and baffling to pretty much everyone that there would only be conflict or an argument if MoN or Keane were actually there.

I find myself agreeing with Dunphy a lot these days and it kind of undermines my point of view

So where is this live show going to be ?

    I'm guessing it's Whiddy Island

i wouldn't hugely disagree but I still think we need to get real and realise we once had players to truly get excited about who were names on the world stage.

So when I hear the second captains guys unable to get their head around how the colossus of the game like Harry Arter isn't an automatic selection I do wonder has perspective been completely lost.

I think you are kind of contradicting yourself. We don't have a lot of great players so then it is a head scratcher when one of our best central midfielders may not be an automatic selection.

I would class our midfielders as largely peas in a pod ability wise. I think they are workers with slightly different talents but peas in a pod overall. I think the kind of lauding that went on from SC pre game about Arter should be reserved for a truly outstanding talent. Also Arter was said to bring Ireland the same skills as Whelan but also other different skills. I don't think that's true. I think Whelan is a different type of midfielder than Whelan. Both defensively minded but different skills.

Interesting interview with that baseball player who lost his mojo and had to start playing in a different position, he got a bit uncomfortable when Eoin pushed him about drug use, that stuff about his father sounded crazy

I'd forgotten how funny that clip of B-Hop talking about Mary Poppins was "The history of Mary Poppins is nothing to laugh about" :D

It certainly felt like a curveball in the context of the interview, if you'll pardon the pun. Given it was a controversy in the guy's career, I suppose it had to be touched on, but Eoin was very direct about it. Ankiel mightn't answer the phone next time!

Baseball seems to be absolutely stink with PEDs. It's an issue that doesn't get much traction with US sports fans, for whatever reason.

It certainly stinks to watch anyway.

Cancelled Patreon today, will probably re-sub when football starts back in August. No interest in Gah, rugby or Murph's country pages for the summer.

I cancelled as well. I have zero interest in rugby. I am a big GAA fan but there's much better podcasts out there. I will probably re-sub in August.

Skipped a few Podcasts this week due to rugby content, wouldn't unsubcribe from it over it though, its a fiver a month

When Ken or Eoin are away, I always miss them. When Murph is away...

    Lot of Rugby hate...

Ah, that's harsh. Murph is an essential part of the show.

Have been finding it hard to listen to recently also.. Could just about stomach some rugby talk, but GAA is of no interest whatsoever to me. Won't be unsubscribing anyway as it's only a couple of months.
Anyone know what happened to Richie's interview with James McClean? Seems to have turned into a Damien Duff interview.

They said on yesterdays show he was under the weather and couldn't do it.

    BS?

    Seems ok on instagram.

Probably doesn't want to talk to the media about the ban.

He was on an Irish man abroad 4 days ago. So probably covered a good lot of the same stuff.

The three of them have good chemistry, but I always notice more when the other two are off.

I've found myself shuffling through a few of their recent pods

I've also found that the audio beds are becoming way tooo long. Quite clearly reaching filler levels. Some of them are minutes long at this stage. Gets a bit annoying hearing the same things over and over.

It's a tough ask producing so much content.

Was always going to get tough over the summer months: football coverage is the bedrock of what they do and once the constant story generating machine that is the football season is on hiatus then they'll understandably struggle to produce as much essential content. It is still only a fiver a month and eventually the godawful tedium of Lions discussion will come to an end.
