Although no update, I really liked the new multiple screen support added. So instead of just mirroring the screen it will allow it to act as an additional monitor. Major feature for OS X. Only got annoyed by this the other day watching the XBox keynote and being unable to use the Mac while it was on.

Also it seems only iTunes Radio is US only. The rest seems like it's available to us all.

Is there any change to killing apps, I'm sure I noticed him flipping and app up in one demo (multi tasking?) and killing it.

Just read on the apple facebook that they've dropped the notes app from iOS. Anyone confirm ? Would seem like an unusual move. (I'd get rid of stocks before notes)

    Few thoughts on todays events...

    Pros
I was definitely overwhelmed, more than I have in quite some time by an Apple event. It was literally so much happening that I got lost in it all. Normally after an event i'm able to repeat some of the features but with iOS 7 it was feature after feature and changes here and there. It has blown any expectations out of the water. Shocked at how much has changed with it, and I didnt expect such a drastic improvement.

Even with the OS X update. It was a good few features from my wishlist. But iOS 7 had just so many, even some unnoticed such as notification sync, control centre, Airdrop, multitasking and even the small updates to camera.

The redesign of two apps I've really neglected (Weather and Mail) was really nice. Made them look like some of the premium apps currently on the app store.

The whole event was really what i'd expect from a leading company like Apple.

    Cons
Some of the app icons I didn't like. But that is such a tiny insignificant thing I'm barely gonna be bothered.
Also some features seemed limited. E.g. allowing you to customise Control Centre, and also AirDrop seemed like a way to just share links. No photos or videos. But we'll soon see.

Overall i'm so happy with the announcement. Before stuff like the 3D style wallpapers would of been a standout feature of the whole OS. Today it was lost in all the excitement.

    Bravo Apple!
i thought that is now done in photostream.

I wonder if any third party in car entertainment companies will support ios in car ? Hope it's not just new models

    You can AirDrop photos:

Sending a photo or a document to someone via text or email is fine. But if that someone is right next to you, a text or an email suddenly feels like too many steps. Enter AirDrop for iOS. It lets you quickly and easily share photos, videos, contacts — and anything else from any app with a Share button. Just tap Share, then select the person you want to share with. AirDrop does the rest using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. No setup required. And transfers are encrypted, so what you share is highly secure.3

Yeah, double click to get all your running apps up, then swipe the apps up to close them. So much better and very much like the Auxo jailbreak.

Nope, Notes is still there. Check out the Apple site and under features there's a Notes app icon.

Not everybody has it enabled etc, plus its not ideal for a single photo share. The above Boardsie cleared it up though, you can send photos and videos.

Type looks too big in places,
The core apps look like they were designed by different teams
Icons are just bad design from good principles (the golden rule was previewed in the video)

Functionally it will work well, but aesthetically it could do with some serious rethinking

    Bloody hell, buzz killington.

Can you not see that the whole thing is a rethink.

Quite annoying how the iPad Mini gets Airdrop support but the iPad 3 doesn't. Although I shouldn't be surprised given Apple's past, and should be grateful the iPad 3 is getting the update!

Lots of hate over on Google+ towards Apple today. Seen this posted about 8 times. But the comments are nasty. iOS v Jellybean.

During the presentation they specifically mentioned there was a hardware reason for that but then again, they said something similar about Siri and the google version works just fine on my iPhone 4.

Apart from that, I thought most of the improvements looked great. One little problem could be the automatic app updates. In theory a great idea, (and senator McCain will be happy) but I've kept older versions of two media player apps, oplayer and avplayer, as they've had to remove codecs from newer versions due to licence issues.

I would imagine you can control the automatic update of an app in the push notifications.

He's already tweeted about it thanking Tim Cook :D

Handy recap video for people who haven't got 2 hours. Only a brief overview though.

Two things to note, Newstand can now be put into a folder (Thank You Apple) and the Clock app displays up to date time.

Nope, haven't got a Dev account... although very tempted. But the overall Beta part is putting me off.

Just been picking up tidbits from websites etc. A lot of stuff i've been wanting has been added today so I really am chuffed and dying to get my hands on it.

From the rumours of iOS7 and the new "flat" themes, none of it sounded like I'd be impressed.... Just seen the video on YouTube. And WOW! Consider me impressed. I want it now!!!!

And this is probably a really stupid question... But it showed at one point the home screen with a personalised wallpaper. And when the device tilted, the perspective of the app icons in relation to the wallpaper changed very subtlety but nicely. Was that just some graphical dohickory for the presentation or will that really happen?

Nope it is an actual feature, a very nice touch to add a bit of depth to the Home screen.

Perspective does change as you tilt the device, parallax effect I think they described it as.

Quick preview of the new control centre.

I installed ios 6 last year as a beta on my old iPhone 4S and I soon regretted it. I wanted access to the improved Siri. The voice notification turned on and it took a day to turn itself off. It would do this again continually ever 3 or 4 days and I only found out how to turn it off once ios 6 was finally released. Also just when ios 6 was officially released my iPhone stopped working and said I had to reinstall my ios. This happened 2 days before I was going to Spain for a holiday, luckily this never happened in Spain.

I was in work earlier so couldn't watch the keynote live. It's probably one of the best keynotes Apple has ever delivered. The announcements were great. A nice mixture of new stuff and stuff we've wanted for a long time. But what really impressed me was the passion and enthusiasm of all the participants. I've had my doubts about Cook's leadership but not anymore. All those guys look like they are at the top of their game.

I'm delighted with the iOS redesign. I was expecting a lot of bright colours. This is John Ive, the guy who designed the original iMac after all. I'm so glad that Apple finally have someone who understands design doing the user interface. OS X and iOS both started out looking pretty unified and deteriorated from there. I can't wait until Ive gets to work on OS X.

I know this is beta 1 but few things I need to point out. A beta has never been this unpolished as this one.

    * Most apps do not work. Had trouble with Dropbox, Mailbox, Twitter Auth
    * The keyboard doesnt show if its caps or small letters. It all looks like you're typing in caps (Helvetica is what got me)
    * The magnifier when hovering over text is just overlayed over, it doesnt hide the unmagnified text.

And I've already said my bit over the issues I have over some of the icon and UI choices.

Been seeing a lot of this, also people pointing out their iPhones are hot. I'll avoid this until its officially released I think.

I'm really happy that they have added multiple pages to App folders the limit was really annoying. Overall really happy with iOS7 some great features.

Dropbox does kind of hang there doing nothing.
Caps lock changes the colour of the shift key (really the key caps should change between upper/lower case).
The Adverts.ie app has been changed into a splash screen and nothing else.
    Phone not getting too hot.
Things in general feel a bit snappier.

    Apps With Issues:
    Dropbox
    Mailbox
    Adverts.ie

Apps that appear to be working ok:
    Flipboard
    1Password
    Airport Utility
    Facebook
    Google Maps
    Pocket
    Twitter
    Tweetbot
    LinkedIn
    Meetup
    Speedtest
    LogMeIn
    PocketKPI
    4OD
    BBC iPlayer
    RTE News Now
    Shazam
    Soundhound
    DublinBus
    Bus Eireann
    Aer Lingus
    Sky News
    Chrome
    You Tube
    Elevatr
    TestFlight

So far all of the stock(standard) apps are all working.
