Not sure if it was mentioned but they said in the studio yesterday.

If tiger was ranked this year he would be 7th in proximity to the hole and number 1 in proximity from the fairway.
He hasnt played enough rounds to be ranked this year yet.

Just shows he still has plenty of game.

It would be great to see him make the Fed Ex as it might just give him the next big mental push he needs.

A win will definitely get him into the playoffs. Second place on his own would give him a chance of making the playoffs, but he would need other results to go his way.

He currently has 147 points and second place would be worth 300 points, bringing his total to 447. Charl Schwartzel is currently in 125th place in the rankings with 439 points. A number of players on or near the bubble are playing this week and the projected rankings based on current scores show 448 points for 125th place. So second place on his own might just allow him to scrape into the top 125 if some of those players projected to pick up points and finish just inside the top 125 fall back over the next three days.

Not able to watch this this evening, but Tiger seems to be motoring.

Eagle putt from about 15 feet on 15th to tie the lead.

Didn't get to watch any golf last night but after hearing about Tiger's 3 putt on the first, I thought he was going to blow up. Hopefully it will be an exciting weekend's golf!

Tiger isn't burning up the course today like some, but should still be in the last group going out tomorrow. Great chance for him.

So Tiger had a bogey on the last last night! Still looking dangerous though.

The greens are unbelievably fast, he sent a few of his first putts 4+ foot past the hole but made all of them coming back, except on 18. He had at least 5 birdie putts that just missed the hole. He should win from here, his game looks sharp.

Well that's Tiger out of it!

That's some performance by Davis Love III. If he wins this, he will be the oldest player to win a PGA tour event since Art Wall in 1975. He'll also be in the playoffs.

Shame Tiger won't make the playoffs. I would have added a bit of spice. I am not mad about the guy but you just have to admire what he has achieved. He has such a fab swing when he swings within himself

Yes, that's my feeling about Tiger too. It is not to be this year, but he's beginning to prowl, which is good to see.

Jordan Spieth had a bit of a shocker at the Barclays today. 4 over with 5 bogies and a double. Putter seems to have gone stone cold on him; had a three putt on one hole and was -1.6 strokes gained putting.

Yeah was fairly surprised to see that from him! Not often you see a front 9 like this from him... Also a poor opening round from Harrington finishing at 3 over.

Interesting to note that if he finishes below 15th at the Barclays, Rory goes back up to number 1.

That's a horrendous looking card - does this guy need a break?

Ah he is young enough... he will probably go shoot a 60 tomorrow knowing him.

Poutler had another shocker today... 8 over and currently last. Thought he was going to have a good season but ever since that shank and blow up at the Honda, he has been off.

His win was a WGC event so stupidly, it didn't count for the FedEx

It would have counted if he already had his PGA Tour card, but he didn't win his card until he won the event, so the points he would have won in that and the other WGC event did not count.

    No, Kaymer didn't either.

I was a bit off target blaming his putting ;). The stats are right, but the cause seems to have been his approach play. He kept leaving himself with long putts and of the four par 3s, he only landed his tee shot on the green for one of them.

When he got to the green in two, only once did he have a putt less than 10 feet. His birdies came from 4ft, 11ft and 16ft putts. He still missed some reasonable par save putts: an eight footer on the fifth and he three putted the ninth from 34 feet, missing a 5 footer for par.

The cut could be as high as +2, so he just needs to play a solid round to make the weekend.

Have a look at Ian Poulter's card! Three doubles, assorted bogies, a few birdies and an occasional par! Bizaar.

His stats are horrendous. 36% driving accuracy, 39% GIR and a smidgen short of 3 strokes lost from putting.

Justin Rose is much the same except his GIR is much better at 61%. The greens are obviously very difficult and if you're out of position off the tee, you're in a world of hurt. I saw a lot of balls out of the rough yesterday bouncing across greens like happy puppies :)

It's not a long course (just over 7000 yards), but the fairways are narrow enough in the landing areas and are full of awkwardly placed bunkers. Spieth had one in a fairway bunker and proceeded to put his second shot into the next fairway bunker.

Early stages today, but Henrik Stenson is making a bit of a charge: -3 after 8 and Tony Finau is out in the lead on his own at -1 after 7. Projected cut is +1.

It's crazy that somebody like Spencer Levin can jump from 115th to projected 4th based on one tournament.

But is that not the beauty of the format now? Puts pressure on doing well during these four tournaments. If it was the normal point system Spieth could probably take the next 4 tournaments off and still win.
