Nice looking car. Did I read somewhere that they like their oil though?

EDIT: Honest John says 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 litre VVT-i engines can start to use up to a litre of oil every 600 miles after 40,000 miles due to a bore liner problem.

Cortina, it just looks a lovely place to sit.

    Shame about the autobox though.

I would have to go with my heart over my head, audi 100 avant has so much appeal for me, the cortina is nice too given a manual box conversion but I would have classic 100 avant anyday.
It would have a bit of an oddball headturning presence on the road compared to the obvious (and frankly more common) cortina.

Those BBS alloys look so out of place on the audi but really adds to its quirkiness for me, and that arse is such a plus
    so Audi quattro :D

    thats better lol
I did the quick maths and 33L/300km would mean it burns 11.1L of diesel every 100km!!
that would have been piss poor lol

so if on a full tank (22L) covers 300km
that 800cc diesel smart burns 7.3L per 100km that is still very piss poor haha
considering almera 1.4's do 8L/100km all day long and corolla 1.3's are probably a bit better again.

not smart bangernomical sense at all.

see what I did there :)

for the older fuel consumption heads:

    7.3L/100km is equivalent to 39mpg

That's up on adverts.ie too, been keeping an eye on it. It was up for €1,200 bout 2 weeks ago iirc.

Then down to €1,000, then €800 and now €500.

There's 230k miles listed on the adverts.ie add.

Sorry, how in the name of god is that a bangernomics car?

You seem to post everything on DD that can be got for near or around 2k. Than doesn't mean that its a bangenomics car.
    Its a heap of sh1t.
2.7 non commercial jeep. Far from cheap to run.

Oh sorry pet. I'm sure he does. Anyway, how does the 2.7 jeep with 150k miles with a 2.2k asking make a bangernomics car these days?
Not having a go at the OP but this thread seems to be filling up with everything on DD sub €2000. Reliable cheap to run and purchase cars....with NCT of course.
My original understanding of bangernomics is obviously different to yours.
