Sorry, how in the name of god is that a bangernomics car?

You seem to post everything on DD that can be got for near or around 2k. Than doesn't mean that its a bangenomics car.
    Its a heap of sh1t.
2.7 non commercial jeep. Far from cheap to run.

A little harsh there. The jeep has a copy of an old merc diesel engine in it which is not very reliable, likes to burn oil and is not very efficient. Also a lot of these are RWD not 4WD which makes them a bit useless off road compared.

Oh sorry pet. I'm sure he does. Anyway, how does the 2.7 jeep with 150k miles with a 2.2k asking make a bangernomics car these days?
Not having a go at the OP but this thread seems to be filling up with everything on DD sub €2000. Reliable cheap to run and purchase cars....with NCT of course.
My original understanding of bangernomics is obviously different to yours.

Relax. Some of us like to see something a bit different then the typical 1.2L petrol going cheap. I'd much rather see some wacky/fun cars in the bangernomics price range, then boring cheap to run cars.
The Rexton may not be the greatest deal on here, but it's still something someone might be interested in. Rextons are lovely all around. How do you know it's not the perfect fit for someone following this tread? Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it shouldn't be posted.

Sometimes S500 mercs get posted in here for that kind of money and are well received and even dearer to run/maintain.

That jeep may not be to your taste (or mine) but there are people out there that want a big heap like that because they have one toddler and think they need the space. They want a young reg and lots of NCT. That car fits Bangernomics criteria.
Kaiser is one of the very best bangernomics posters at the moment, definitely does not deserve to be treated like that for one slightly weak post

I agree with your first part, but that the second. They're the old Dacia. Horrible yokes.

@cadilac although I hate them it is a bangernomics car because it can be gotten for less than 2k.
My car was a bangernomics car but there's nothing economical.

Bangernomics for me is a car that's well looked after, needs no work and has some test. Whether it gets 20 mpg or 60 mpg is irrelevant because there's more to life than driving a 999 cc micra.
I'd rather see some things that are different and interesting like the cortina posted yesterday, than starlets micras and polos all the time.

    Them not the rules :)

The gist is that the car has NCT and is under 2k and most importantly, that you would want to own and drive it :)

Some of us in here favour 20 year old very basic Toyotas that are very reliable. Others fancy big, safe, luxury saloons with a bit of poke. Some people like small city cars, others big 4WD, should I go on? :)

I'm actually genuinely interested. The mileage is very low, though the steering wheel looks a little manky/worn. But seeing as the mileage is the main selling point I'd wager that its genuine and provided it checks out could be a nice car for the money!

    @Nemeses2050

yeah I suppose the only thing that would put some off is the highish tax.

That steering wheel doesn't look at all like it's off a 59k car, the leather also looks quite tired.

The steering wheel does look odd, but it looks more damaged/picked at than worn... I don't think the leather is too bad either then again they aren't great pics you can't see the drivers bolster which is usually the best place for signs of wear. Not to mention cream leather is awful for ageing..

I dunno, hard to tell for sure without seeing the car in real life.
There's a hint of too low to be true about it...

Yep, totally agree. There's some good big engines out there but the only thing is high tax.

That accord is a beauty. It works out at about 16 euro a week more to tax than a yaris. Which isn't too bad.

That's a lovely car for the money.
    Top find.

It might be 16 euro a week more than a yaris but it all adds up. That 16 euro extra per week means the accord ends up being €835 more to tax annually than a 1.0 yaris.

    That's a significant difference Imo.

Now im not saying a yaris is better than an accord as an accord is obviously a much nicer car and if you can afford to run it there is no reason not to go for it. However on a cheaper to run basis there is no comparison, the yaris is much friendlier on the pocket. :)

    Oh of course :)

Was just thinking to myself wouldn't it be lovely to be driving that accord around.

But yeah add up the cost of insurance, tax, fuel ect and it'd be a way more expensive car to run.
