It wouldn't have been Conors objective to choke the guy out cold when he did it... I'd be 100% sure about that. Your man most likely tried to resist it and then blacked before he tapped... no harm comes to somebody from a blood choke IF the person lets go immediately, they say, however I wouldn't feckin recommend choking people out ever, even in a self defense situation - you'll achieve the same result by 'almost' choking them out.
You're just making a big deal out of it because you don't understand the interaction or have no experience grappling and you're just hearing 'choked out' and watching Conor laugh about it and reacting. The producer probably felt a bit stupid for not tapping appropriately and probably laughs about it now.

There is a big difference between being asked to be put in a choke and being fully choked unconscious.
Only a real asshole would actually follow through with that and then to laugh about it just shows a lack of class.

That answers the question from earlier int he thread then. Must've definitely been Matt Hughes!

I do train bjj and know exactly the the mechanics of the RNC.
Being knowledge about it doesn't make the situation any less inappropriate.

Anyways you may be right and it may have been an accident, I hope for his sake that it was.

You said you train BJJ, so i'm sure you seen people think they could resist, but go out quicker than they expect. On the other hand, I'll sure you seen choke that take a bit longer to sink in.
Do you honestly think that the guy was tapping and Conor held on to it? I obviously don't know, but I'd strongly doubt it.
I'd assume the guy didn't tap for what ever reason.

Browsing about a few Fox sports 1 article I came accross this "preview" for McGregor's UFC debut.
I wonder if he'll do a similar one for this weekend and how much will his tune change.
Notice the contrast with the striking stylistic review posted above.

    http://themma-analysis.com/2013/04/05/conor-mcgregor-vs-marcus-brimage-the-striking/

After watching the tape I see a clear striking advantage for Marcus Brimage in this fight. You’ve heard me preach head movement before, when to strikers fight and one doesn’t move their head, I’m usually going to go with the guy who does. McGregor looks like a guy who has fought and prepared for subpar caliber opponents. When you are throwing in capoeira kicks but fail to implement proper head movement and striking defense, you’ve obviously seen no need for it

I think it would be best for Conor's UFC career if the bout goes the distance on Saturday. He doesn't need another highlight finish but rather a fast paced, grueling 3 rounder, maybe he is getting cocky and people are over hyping him but he has the talent and dedication to go all the way. Like all fighters he will suffer a setback and i wouldnt be suprised if its against Holloway. Brimage is nowhere near top 10 quality, maybe not even 20. So this fight is a BIG step up, and with a lot of expectation

I've watched those McGregor highlights so many times but no matter how many times I repeat it, it never fails to impress me how crisp his striking was in the flurry for the TKO.

    Those uppercuts!

Having been choked out twice in tournaments its not bad. BJ Penn has done it on sports science too.

On the plane now, I'll be tweeting stuff from McGregor Media Day as well as during the week. www.Twitter.com/andrewmcgahon_

Sounds mad but it reminds me so much of Andersons debut against Leben.

Somebody will take him to the wire someday but it won't be Holloway in my opinion. Holloway likes to scrap but he doesn't have the power to match Mcgregor and unless he has an Iron chin it's very difficult to see this one going beyond the first round considering how they stack up stylistically.

And I am not by any means, one of the many people who has been hypnotised by the hype.

Another video of him doing some light sparring:

I really can't wait, so excited. I'm a lurker here and have been for years, but this is so good for Irish MMA. Conor is in immaculate shape, I don't see any way he loses this (admittedly I haven't seen much of Holloway).

Slick as ****. He's gonna **** max up. I know max is decent but he's not gonna handle Conor's power. First exchange and Max will be hurt and I can't see it going anyway else other than Max having a nap in the middle of the cage. If he tries to stand its good night for him
