?? you seem to have got out of the wrong side of the bed

Not at all, just slightly confused is all :) Your post just seemed a bit random in the context of Peadar Lamb's death so I was wondering what i was missing. Maybe you were just trying to be informative and I got my wires crossed.

Frank Vincent has died aged 78 RIP.

He appeared in a number of Martin Scorsese films Raging Bull, Goodfellas and Casino but is probably best remembered in recent years as Phil in the Sopranos.

Harry Dean Stanton has died aged 91.
Harry Dean Stanton, the character actor with the world-weary face who carved out an exceptional career playing grizzled loners and colorful, offbeat characters in such films as Paris, Texas and Repo Man, has died. He was 91.

Stanton, who also was memorable in Cool Hand Luke (1967), Two-Lane Blacktop (1971), Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979), John Carpenter’s Escape From New York (1981) and John Hughes’ Pretty in Pink (1986) — in fact, what wasn’t he memorable in? — died Friday afternoon at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, his agent told The Hollywood Reporter.

Ah now. :( One of the great character actors. So many roles it's hard to highlight one but obviously Alien is the film most will know him for along with Paris Texas.

RIP to one of the true greats. :(

An absolute legend and one of the all time great character actors. He was always memorable no matter what the role was. He's been in so many of my favourite movies and TV shows.

As a fan of the Alien series and Big Love, losing him and Bill Paxton in the same year sucks big time.

Watching Twin Peaks: The Return and there was no doubt you were looking at a man who could have retired decades ago. But he persisted, because he was Harry Dean ****ing Stanton, and his screen presence remained as compelling and distinctive as it ever had even if his nine decades showed.

A truly epic career - offering up all-time great performances in some of the greatest films of any era.

    Ah balls.

But, you know, I've been expecting that news this year.

One of the all time greats. Always a joy seeing him in stuff. Over 60 years of work from him.

    :(

The great thing about John Hillerman is that he was a Texan playing the perfect English accented old school stiff up lip.

Also had a great cameo as Mr. Kaltenborn, hassled manager of the hotel in Whats Up Doc.

Mr Kaltenborn: Dr Bannister, I have a message for you from the staff of the hotel.
    Howard: What is it?
    Mr Kaltenborn: Goodbye.
    Howard: That's the entire message?
Mr Kaltenborn: We would appreciate it if you would check out.
    Howard: When?
    Mr Kaltenborn: Yesterday.
