Had the most epic morning Lie in with the boy turned into me waking up at 6.30am, watching Greys Finale (omg), then getting inspired so went to Tesco at 8am and got loads of really nice stuff for breakfast, bought him flowers and all, and woke him up with coffee so we could have breakfast in bed and have nice morning together before work (both of us in at 11.30).

Truly positive attitude for the day now!

Mars Bar

Got my hair done (all nice and short and light! :eek:) and my eyebrows done. I always just kept the stray eyebrow hairs away but never got them shaped until today and my god they look fantastic!
Also fitting into my nice skinny jeans.

TL;DR: Mars Bar is feeling and looking beautiful today.

So I just got a surprise birthday cake from work. Not even from my current group but my old one! Cheered up my afternoon.

Until...

Do you remember I was talking about having to work events on Fridays and it interupting my current job? Well I emailed my boss on Monday about it asking if I could finish at 3pm instead of 5.30 those 3 Fridays and that I'd come in early/at the weekends or stay late to make up the hours. Well I just went into him and got my answer. A flat out no. "Is this about that other job? If you're hired for here, you're hired for here. I won't be possible."

I'm actually really upset about it because I think I've really made a fool of myself in front of him now and I don't think he likes me at all. I'm working so hard and I just seem to keep making myself look worse and worse and I know that I'm not that bad.

Great day! Work told me my bonus has somehow been doubled AND I'm getting a payrise, my ereader came just in time for my weeks holidays, I can now open my mouth a full 2cm and having fish n chips for dinner. Not even the fact that I walked into the kitchen this morning to discover the dog had eaten 6 pages out of the last chapter of the book I wanted to finish tonight can bring me down today

I'm sure you'll be okay! I felt like that after one of my exams, but everyone else said it was an unfair paper so that made me feel better.

I'm going into Joe tomorrow to have more work done on my leg piece (right leg obviously!)

Thunder and lightning has stopped and our power is back

Thanks. I really wished I had just made up an excuse and asked for half day holidays but stupid me figured honesty was the best policy! I thought that showing that I was willing to make up the hours would help too.

I agree that honesty is the best policy. I also don't see any uselessness whatsoever on your part. And I think that showing you were willing to make up the hours was very reasonable indeed.

Your boss sounds as though he's trying to assert his dominance in a not-ever-so-slightly childish manner.
