8 miles in Courtown woods this morning. Great morning for it down here, before the wind and rain. 20 mins this evening in Gorey with my friend as part of her C25k. Major change in the weather from this morning. Back to Dublin tomorrow to hopefully make it to the club session.

Back to the club tonight. The quads were a bit sore after yesterday so just over 5 miles group run at a comfortable pace suited tonight. First half into a cold wind, second half floated back.

Ran up to Tymon Park, did a lap and home again. Just over 10 mls. Legs felt a bit heavy towards the end. Maybe I've done a little too much this week in my enthusiasm to get the miles in. Was thinking of running the parkrun in the morning but the call went out for helpers so I've volunteered instead. Will get in an easy run in Marley after.

Should be there Ger if you want to do a few laps after.

Went up to Marley Park to help out with the parkrun then did 5 miles around the park. Very cold wind and got cold standing around. The legs felt heavy from the mileage this week so I'll take it very easy tomorrow.

Just under 4 miles in the rain, hail, sleet and then snow. Took it easy and the legs felt better than yesterday. 50 miles for the week.

10 mls of laps in Bushy park this afternoon. bit sluggish starting off but got into the run nicely after a couple of miles. Passed the 1000 mls mark for the year during this run.

Just over 8 mls in Marley this morning. Cold and windy, not a very pleasant run. Don't mind the cold, but the wind is a pain.

Just over 10 mls before dinner:). Laps of Bushy Park. Great morning for running and thankfully I wasn't the only nutter out running on Christmas morning. Done with no breakfast but the booze last night kept me fueled.

Just over 7 mls in Bushy this morning. Another great morning for running. Not feeling too great after two in a row boozy nights. Time to give the liver a break for a couple of days.

I was out for 9 yesterday too. Great way to have a guilt free dinner. one small word of caution - mileage seems to be increasing very quickly. Might be careful with that after just getting healthy again...

Took the advice and backed off today. Just over 5 miles this morning. Difficult trying to keep the effort down when running into the wind. Not ideal conditions for a recovery run.

Went up to Marley to help out at the parkrun. Then did 9 mls of laps of the park. Very cold starting off after standing around but warmed up after a lap and was feeling good for the following laps. Easy day tomorrow.

11.5 mls into the hills. Last tough session before the BHAA XC in Tymon Park next Saturday. Felt very good and strong on the hills. Pace was very good as well. Getting stronger by the day. Driving down to Wexford for New Year this evening. Should get in a couple of runs in Courtown woods. Back Thursday for the first official club session of 2014.

8 mls in Courtown woods this morning. Beautiful morning down here. Tired over the last couple of miles but that was expected after yesterday and I was setting a fairly quick pace in the early miles over a hilly lap. Just under 1100 mls for the year, not too bad considering the injuries. Not sure if I'll get a run in tomorrow, a lot planned for tonight and tomorrow:). Hope everyone has a happy, injury free and successful 2014.

The celebrations for the new year took its toll on my training. Didn't get out for a run since Tuesday so went into todays BHAA 4 mile XC in Tymon Park very fresh. Today was a test to see where I am. With only a few weeks training I wasn't expecting much. The wet weather left the course very soft so comparing todays time to last years wasn't going to tell me much. Started near the back and the first 2 miles were good, moving through the field well. The last two miles were hell. Although the legs felt good throughout the race my breathing went crap. Felt like razor blades in my chest, more like the feeling after an 800m race. Over the last mile I lost a lot of places but managed to pull a couple back on the sprint finish. Still have the kick. Took about ten minutes to recover after the race. Lacking aerobic fitness but hopefully the training will improve that. Next race in two weeks in Cherryfield park.
    Summary: 4.17 miles in 28:37. Avg 6:52.

Rest yesterday so this morning was a long run into the Dublin mountains. 14.5 mls up to the Hell Fire Club. The first half is uphill, second half down hill :P. An elevation gain of 342m according to my FR. Great morning for it with fantastic views of the city at the top.

Club session. 12 x 400m along the Firhouse road. Running down with the wind was fine but back up against the wind was tough.

Just over 10 mls in Bushy Park. Legs tired over the last couple of miles. Racing on Saturday in the BHAA 5 mile XC in Cherryfield Park so a mini taper for the next couple of days.
