Funny, I have it on right now :D

You either get a transponder or you don't:- LNB settings affect all channels on the transponder; signal levels affect all channels on the transponder.

Try deleting all the channels on that transponder and go again.

Also what is the SID for the Discovery Channels you have?

I've had some success with this, as while I still don't have the channel, I now have a 73% signal quality. Can someone take a look at this and see if it looks ok please?

    [IMG][/img]photo.jpg

I'm not sure what the SID is...

Unless I'm missing something that says you very definitely have a signal for the channel :)

Thanks for your help, I guess Rafael can help me now by unscrambling the channel tomorrow hopefully.

Something dodgy is happening with the Discovery channels recently. Have English audio only at the moment, and the Polish comes on with the ads:confused:

No way to change the language through the menu options.

    WTH is going on???

Again, everything is as it should be for me.

The ads only have a Polish soundtrack, even if English is selected, that's the way it should be.

I know, looks like a temporary glitch on my box.
Will have to find the other one manually, I guess.

For anyone interested FA Cup is back this weekend on Orange Sport.

Today was the first time there was no 3pm kick off? They were showing Spanish football instead.

None if the top 6 were playing at 3. Neither were Southampton (Boruc). Still a bit strange they didn't show Newcastle v Utd though.

They had it advertised earlier in the week but dropped it by Thursday.

Strange, and short-sighted, to say the least.

An Ariva. I presume you are running the patched version of the firmware to read and update the card?

The APID is wrong for a start, it should be 142, not 143. Could it be your card not updating the viewing rights.

Why dont you try the HD variant on 11449 H.

I have the HD but no English audio. I contacted satsklep and they say the providers have changed the package and they are trying to sort it. Not holding my breath.

For the interest how do I change the APID on an Ariva?

I dont think you can, unless a channel editor allows it. Cant remember.

Eiter way it could be that they changed it recently as I dont have the station, but it would be in my channel list which is updated via kingofsat.

Anyhow I think your problems are caused by the rights on the card and it could well be that Canal+ have removed the channel from certain packages whatever reason. I have the one with the movies and sport.

They have the live rights to every single match (the only limits being just one 3pm on Saturdays) - they can show double headers later whether they show 3pms this week or not :)

Whilst there is nothing that would send foreign pulses racing this Saturday it is strange that they've passed on a 3pm two weeks running, especially as Manchester United was available last weekend

And whilst +Sport has live events in that timeslot this week the two Family channels just have movies :confused:

They haven't advertised the timeslot for Saturday week either (they wouldn't usually nominate a match this early but would advertise that there will be coverage) so there may be something more to this :(

Ha, about that - I know people who don't really like sports being offended by sport on non-sport channels like Family/Family2.
These were set up as a movie channels originally and having sport events on them all weekend might offend some movie lovers.

On the n platform there are so many sport events at this stage that they have to skip few matches every weekend.
    I wouldn't worry too much.

One of the Europa league games will be shown on both +Sport and TVN Turbo:confused: Some cars enthusiasts will be dissapointed.

My point being that movies can be shown at any time; there's only one chance to run a live match ;)

I don't recall them skipping a PL Saturday 3pm this season (might well be wrong on that) let alone 3 in a row - so I'm guessing it might be a cause for concern, especially considering the very easy availability of the cards. I queried the PL's reasoning earlier in the season when they removed 3pms from Fox Italia and Nova/Diema, and all but one from JSC/Bein, yet left Canal+ Poland alone.

Oh, and Family / Family 2 have ran live Premier League matches since they first appeared. With Canal+ and Canal+ Film on the same platform I don't think anybody would be too offended (and if they are I am constantly amazed at how easily people can become offended :D ).

You know there is Speedway/Moto GP and there was Davies Cup last week too. There is more to a sport on the n platform than 3pm Saturday kick off, that's all I am saying.

My sub has no C+Sport/Film etc. And Family replaced NPremium channels where movies were priority, so whoever sticked to them for movies might be surprised to see football all weekend.

The 3pm kick offs on Saturday are not great tbh - not worried at all.

Somehow you seem to be seriously missing the point ;)

Firstly, the fact that Family/Family 2 are showing movies rather than Premier League football has gone right over your head. That's movies they're showing, not Speedway/Moto GP or Davies Cup for that matter. Family/Family 2 are the overflow Premier League channels when Canal+ Sport is tied up.

You might not be worried about the lack of 3pms but your concern is not what is at issue here.

What is at issue is the sudden removal of 3pms and how this might affect the easy availability of these cards in future.

Whatever the merits of the matches scheduled for 3pm (as it happens Manchester United played in that timeslot last Saturday) they hadn't dropped them prior to last weekend.

So it is strange at the very least.

I don't subscribe so, yes, it might be an idea (at the very least it will let them know the matches are missed).

Who knows, there may be nothing in it. Then again...

As a further aside, next weekend Family 2 is scheduled to show the very same Italian league match as Canal+ Sport at 3pm (our time). For the record Family is showing Fed Cup.

    Alarm bells ringing yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,138 ✭✭✭snaps

I have to agree with radiowaves, I reckon the 3pms have been stopped by the EPL. No great deal for me as I tend to watch bundesliga on a sat afternoon, so if anything its a loss to the EPL and a gain to the bundesliga.

It is not like I am arguing with radiowaves and the rest but there is no mention anywhere that 3pm matches rights were withdrawn.

They have limited commentators, lots of leagues to show and not so many channels to accomodate them. The PL games can only be shown on some of them.

And finally the audience from 3pm blackout areas are not their main target and since they are the only provider of these games in Poland, they don't care that much.

Interesting fact - polish ekstraklasa has about 181k viewers (depending on the game) and EPL - 44k. (average).

United - Tottenham had 200k viewers, which is around an average for polish league.

Like I said - nothing to worry about, if there was Liverpool-City at 3pm they would show it.

Maybe you could advise how that is applying to these 3 weekends (at least) yet the other 8 months of the season it hasn't been the case?

I have read and re-read this and I really cannot see what point you're trying to make? Bulgarian channels were stopped from showing 3pms. Italian channels and Middle eastern channels too, It is not about the target area of the channels, it's about the places that the channels can be viewed. As we've already discussed, Polish cards are supplied far and wide outside Polish borders - and are obviously as easily available in the UK as anywhere else.

Again, I'm not really sure what the Polish league has to do with this discussion. You've mentioned how big a draw Manchester United are for Polish audiences yet don't seem able to advise why Manchester United were not shown last weekend at 3pm?

Point is being made over and over but the relative attractiveness of the fixtures only seems to be an issue "all of a sudden"

BTW There was never a chance of Liverpool v Manchester city at 3pm this season nor will there be for the foreseeable future.
