I expect the livery change and C Check is part of the pre-lease prep. SO perhaps once she is ready to enter service it will be officially handed over. As of now the aircraft is still responsibility of ILFC (I believe)

Do we know the aircraft name yet?

    EI 757

For some reason the picture wouldn't load for me. I checked the Photo News page and got this.

Hopefully it works, is it a different pic to the one in your link?

    Looks fantastic!

So what is the current fleet size?

    4 x A319-100
    33 x A320-200
    3 x A321-200
    3 x A330-200
    4 x A330-300
2 x 757-200 (with one more to follow)

Do Aer Lingus own all of the above (apart from 757's), or are others leased?

Got those figures from Wiki, so might not be totally accurate.

Haven't really got any proper figures but I think around half of the fleet is leased.

It's still only one B757 in the fleet - the newly painted aircraft has not been handed over yet - as per an earlier post, the cabin has yet to be fitted out.

If we're including ACL's 757's in EI's fleet should we not include RE's ATR's also??

Yes, by all means. Looking for whatever is considered part of Aer Lingus current fleet.

The ACL deal is quite different from a franchise agreement though. The 757s are EI Mainline no matter who is piloting them.

    I wouldn't include them.

That said, the question from the poster can be interpreted to mean how many planes in the Aer Lingus set of colours are operating.

Certainly, as someone who is not that into aviation to care enough about the franchise and ACL differences to make the distinction, its more interesting to know how many aircraft there are in the combined fleet.

I'd say less than 26 owned, from you link

    Owned or finance leased 26
    Operating leases 21

    3 x A330-200
    4 x A330-300
    3 x 757-200
Fixed that for you with planned fleet for Summer 2014.

Add in the 13 ATR-72's and 4 ATR-42's of Aer Lingus Regional.
(incls 2 ATR-72 [-FCY, -FCZ] getting delivered around now)
