had a brilliant day yesterday. it was my first cricket game, what wasnt played on the village green.

it definately wont be my last.

the Asian's were brilliant, they were cheering for eveyone, and had a great sense of humour.

    "We love you Paul":D

@TrueDub, we were sat in the bigger stand at the City End, where Irfan started his fielding, as the innings wore on he ended up down at Killester. I had on a "Cricket Ireland" wide brimmed trilby hat.

Fair enough, we were at the opposite end then - I was beside the scorers' box. Anytime i'm watching a game in Tarf, you'll find me in that corner of the ground, assuming I have a choice of where to sit.

If we have weather like today, it could be a run fest tomorrow, I didn't see many demons in the pitch Thursday.

There was a bit of rain around North of the Liffey this morning, at about 730ish, but all seems to have cleared up now.

Good luck to the lads today, and hopefully everyone going has as good a day as we had on Thursday cricket wise, and a better day weather wise!

    Cmon Ireland!

Sigh, both openers gone in the first 4 overs :o

    what a horrible start.

I was glad on Thursday when we were put fielding first, always feel better with Ireland chasing a total.

    Daaaamnnn.

    NoB gone now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,748 ✭✭✭✭Lovely Bloke

    Oh no!

Wilson gone now, KoB is in now, with Joyce, so hopefully this partnership can muster a good number of runs.

86 runs after over half the innings is not good, I'd be expecting no more than 210 or so to be Pakistan's target.

5x4 for LoB last 3 overs, he's motoring.

He's definitely making them pay in the last few balls, just what we needed.

What 20/20 playing experience has really thought these lads is that they dont need to panic with early wickets or low run rate, a few good overs with the bat or ball can really change things.

Woo, both lads hitting big ones now.

    Nice
    37.5
Asad Ali to KJ O'Brien, no run, brilliant yorker that is very well defended

Gotta love 9 ball overs. Great powerplay that.

I hope Joyce can get some big runs in the last 3 overs now, maybe get up above 220 anyway

229-9. After a disastrous start its a respectable score, unlikely to be near enough but it gives Ireland something to defend anyway.

Bat friendly pitch, low target - Pakistan won't need more than 40 overs imo.

Amazing to think that is Ed Joyce's first ever ODI ton for Ireland

Second man to score ODI centuries for two nations. Wonder who the other one is.

Nice start, low run rate early on and an early wicket

Keppler Wessels, he was a south african playing who had to play for Australia in the 80s

    Edit: great start for Ireland!

No, Keppler Wessels was the first (and only?) guy to get a century for two nations in tests. Eoin Morgan was the first guy to get an ODI century for two nations.
