games are still going to be released for the 360. can't remember what they said but 5-6 years of support ahead of it I think.

How many new (1st party) XBox 360 games were announced this week then?
my clarity out clarifies your clarity.

they wanted to create an all in one entertainment device that uses an internet connection to do all sorts of things, they created an all in one entertainment device that uses an internet connection to do all sorts of things. They're not trying to please everybody and certainly not trying to please "core gamers" who are a fickle, hypocritical and ****ing moronic group of people at the best of times.
If an all in one entertainment device that can be used to play games doesn't interest you then the xBone probably isn't for you. It's not a big deal. They are under no obligation to create a product you like and you are under no obligation to like or purchase whatever product they create.

But, Sir Digby, they could just as easily make an all encompassing, all singing all dancing entertainment system that also caters for gamers of every shade without the 24 hour check in requirement. If you have internet access then you can take advantage of all the features that require internet access, and for those that don't then those features are not available. You know like the way we have all already been using our various entertainment / gaming systems for a few years now.

But you are correct, they are under no obligation to make a product that I or any other specific person will like but I do believe that it is in any company's best interest to attract as many potential customers as they can and just as importantly not to alienate potential loyal previous customers.

well dark souls 2 and world of tanks anyway, but I don't see why they'd spend much time on anything other than games for their new hardware at an e3 such a short time before launch. They want people to move to xbone so that's what they focused on.

    Thanks for proving my point.

I don't disagree, but they chose not to. I don't really like it but I don't think it's a huge deal. Disliking it is fine it's the over the top "ea worst company in america" style responses to it that are ridiculous.

true enough but I think this'll pay off for them long term. "core gamers" will give out about it for the next while but eventually they'll see a game they "just have to play" and will fork out for an xbone. some won't sure but enough will that ms will have captured a portion of the gaming market as well as the new entertainment market they're gunning for now.

Right, trying to get away from the drm/always on malarkey.

caught up on some of the release trailers yesterday. And my initial reaction was :o

Ryse looks superawesome! Titanfall, even my Mrs was impressed. The one that caught her eye was PVZ: Garden Warfare. And she is by no means a gamer, even casual gamer is too strong.

For me, the Xbone seemed to handle the games better, PS4 honestly didn't seem much better than current gen.

I've been swayed back from "Xbone? no fùcking way" to "Xbone? Well, maybe"

    I don't understand this.

I catch some of the E3 footage.
I thought Xbone games looked great.

Maybe microsoft were running their games off a better spec PC than Sonys? :pac:

Sony PS4 for me... had them all so far, see no reason to change in the press stuff available... the boy had a Xbox.. he may get another who knows.

You say looked much beter, I assume you mean graphics? The new consoles are way more powerful than the old ones so the games will obviously look a lot better. Both are pretty similar in terms of hardware so I would't expect much of a visual difference.

What games looked like they handled better on Xbox than PS4, though. I'm just curious.

Also, Killzone and Dark Scorcery tech demo couldn't be done on current gen.

They're all running on PC during E3 anyway.

I didn't expect much of a difference myself, but I though the Xbone game footage was crisper, and better than than the ps4 footage. I thought ps4 footage was in the ps3 ballpark.

    * in my defense, I was hungover to hell.*

What Playstation 4 games did you watch?

Could have just been where I was catching the video, was an ign thing with a bunch of 2 minute videos.

As mentioned, I though Ryse looked ****cool, and Titanfall was the business. Going to have to browse my history when I get near my pc, as the ps4 games (i saw)didn't leave enough of an impression for me to remember the names. Having said that, the MGS looked the absolute business.

why are people getting offended about being told to stick with the 360 if you dont have good access to internet?

They are affectively telling those people, we don't want to provide you with the latest of technology that we are able to produce, because of what "we want the console to do," is not possible, with "how you are able to use it."

Why do people seem to get offended at the idea of people from the current user base, complaining about being excluded and unable to become part of the future user base?

****ing ridiculous how much Europe/UK get ripped off. How the **** can they effectively charge $150 more here than in the states....

then why isn't anybody complaining about the xbox one only having hdmi out?

How do people still not understand that the US pricing doesnt have any sales tax on it?

Sales tax in the USA is usually small, around 10%. And some states don't even have a sales tax. They are getting a much better deal. Since the PS4 is region free one bought in the USA should work over here. If I was buying one id buy it on an american website, have it delivered to a relative and then have them ship it over to me that way you avoid Irish customs & excise charging you import duty. Even with the shipping costs you'd save money. I've bought a mac and a few ipods while on holidays there, its always cheaper.

What's better then HDMI? Or do you what it to output to old TVs?

Jeez, not the same thing. Again, who's best interest is it to have the console connect to the internet every day? Certainly not the user.

Well at least both Sony and MS listened to feedback and have included a HDMI cable as standard, hopefully a 1.4 cable. I'll give the X1 judus for having more connectivity options, IR Blaster, HDMI In etc.

It would have been nice to have an SD card slot and maybe E-SATA.....

why are people getting offended about being told to stick with the 360 if you dont have good access to internet?
    Because, apparently everything is offensive.
games are still going to be released for the 360. can't remember what they said but 5-6 years of support ahead of it I think. it's not a dead console yet and if you are so offended by the always on nature of the xBone it's the perfect option for microsoft to push as they are 100% never going to suggest you jump to their immediate competition.
    QFT.

It's funny. People were complaining that MS didn't do enough for the 360 and that Sony spent more time talking about the PS3. Though, when they try to talk about keeping on to the 360 and how they'll still support the 360, they still are doing it wrong.
I own a pc. I sold my 360 a month or two ago because I hadn't plugged it in for a year and a half. never owned a ps3 although i'll probably pick one up at some point in the next year to play demons souls and journey. my clarity out clarifies your clarity.
If you are partial to JRPGs get Ni No Kuni too.

USB 3 is comparable with e-sata in terms of speed, no?

microsoft have decided that a portion of its userbase is not worth selling to by only including hdmi out. this is apparently something awful. i'm just wondering why the lack of outrage

who's best interest is it to require the disc in the drive to play a game? certainly not the user. this sort of drm is surely awful, isn't it?
