Waste of a transfer if all you get is one clean sheet, Assou Ekotto is fit again and he will be taking over at Left Back for certain, thought it would be on saturday but almost certainly for this weekend, Caulker would be much better in the long run because he may not play every week but when he does it will be 90 minutes or nothing, with Naughton you might get 10 or 15 minutes here and there.

I disagree. I'll be using my wildcard in 2 gameweeks so If Caulker doesn't outscore Naughton over that period then the transfer will have justified itself.

Fair enough, it may be an inspired decision going on that rationale, it's unlikely that Naughton will play any part in the next two gameweeks, you said you took a 4 point hit to swap Caulker for Naughton before this weekend, you've only made a profit of two points so far, you probably had that on your bench. You'll be stuck with a player who will never play and you've dumped one who will play regular 90 minutes(probably).

even at his price now hes still a must have. Hats off to you if you win a mini league without him.

Mata has more points per minute than RVP. Surely more of a must have than RVP with the price difference.

Anyone thinking of bringing Giroud in? Currently have RVP - Ruiz - Suarez up front, and Walcott for Arsenal cover too.

Nope, he's not guaranteed 90 minutes. I thought about it but decided it was too risky a move.

The Arsenal DGW is being overrated IMO. Chelsea should beat Arsenal and Allardyce's teams always give them a tough game. Big Sam just knows how to counteract Wenger too well.

Aye. He's just ridiculously expensive, and would always have required me to take a big points hit/use a wildcard to reshuffle finances enough to bring him in.

You still have 2 WC to use, surely one is worth using?

Fair play to ya trying to go without him but i am unsure if this late in the season is the time to be doing it

Can anyone recommend something for me? In a private league, I've a friend whose 69 points ahead of me, but is away for the next month so won't be maintaining his team as much. Would like to close that gap as much as possible over the next few weeks. :pac: Have both my January and my normal wildcard left, so big moves are possible, but have only the 1 FT.

Yaya Toure out is a definite. Had planned to bring Santi in but he's in a bit of a dip, so looking maybe towards Mata? Would have been better off it I brought him in last week I know, but hadn't realised there was a DGW.

Rafael and Berbs on the way out as well I'd imagine.

Nobody else has given you advice so I'll give it a go

I'd wildcard if I was you, your teams pretty messed up.

Goalkeepers: Jaask was good earlier in the season but West Ham haven't kept many clean sheets lately, I'd keep him this week for the DGW then drop him for Cech or De Gea.
Al-Habsi is not worth 5m, get rid quickly, maybe Bunn of Norwich he's 4.1m and is playing while Ruddys injured.

Defenders: You have spent way to much here. You should only be playing 3 each week so no more than 3 players costing more than 5m, personnally I'd go with 2 expensive defenders from the top teams and 3 cheap defenders( no more than 4.2m) and play the 2 expensive each week and rotate the other 3 depending on fixtures.

Midfield: Are you planning on playing 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 usually as you have cheap player in either. I'll presume your playing 3-4-3, get a cheap midfielder for less than 4.5m who plays regularly, he will always be your sub in your front 8 barring someone else doesn't play, there is no point having all that money on the bench. Loose one of Pienaar or Fellaini and Yaya and get Mata or Bale and cheap mid.

Forwards: I'd get RVP but I won't try force him on a player who doesn't want him. Apart from him choices are fairly split though Suarez and Ba have been great so far but there is question marks over their future returns now. Keep an eye an Aguero when he returns and Sturidge at Liverpool.

I'll through up my team to give you an idea though I wouldn't pick some of the players I have :o

The way the pricing is this year its quite easy to have both infact you can nearly have anyone you want. Both are must haves at the moment however I would feel much more confident giving rvp the armband though. Also theres an abundance of midfield options giving similar returns whereas rvp is clearly the number one striker.

Tempted to shift Ba out for either Lukaku or a City forward, have 10.8 to spend....

Going into the weekend without City cover is a worry, only regret from my wildcard last Gw..

Sturridge or suarez maybe until agueros fit. Surely Suarez cant get his customary hat trick against Norwich again though.

I have Suarez and RVP as my main strikers,Ba is the third but i fear a goal glut for City

me too Im looking at dzeko this week and then aguero the week after. You never know you might get a .2 rise out of Dzeko if he scores again at the weekend and Agueros 60% on the way to a fall to 10.9 so u wud be able to get him in then. I kept 3 million from my wildcard to make sure I could get Aguero when fit.

Riise has lost his place, Wilson could be a while from returning so your down to just the 3 defenders at the moment.

A short term fix would be Riise to Gibbs. Have you still got your second wildcard?

Norwich have been defensively sound the last few games but I cannot see them keeping a clean sheet here. Liverpool will want to bounce back from the United defeat and I can see them starting Sturridge and Suarez up front, they linked up really well in the second half at the weekend.

Don't forget Goofy scored 3 goals + 1 assist against these earlier at the season for a 20 pointer, at that was away. He could easily repeat this at Anfield. If it wasn't for the DGW I'd consider giving him the armband.

Lads, i may sound a little over cautious here but with everyone doing transfers so early in the week would you not be better off waiting until Friday night/ Saturday morning given the fact its suppose to snow/freeze over in the Uk over the weekend?

I think a Sunderland game was postponed at the start of the season due to this?? cost me a few points!!

Good point, it seems likely that there won't be a full list of fixtures this weeekend.

There's 8 or 9 cup replays due this evening though and I haven't heard mention of it effecting those.

yeah thats true, hopefully theres no postponed games! All i heard was there will be a big freeze in the UK over the weekend.

I think it was 2/3 seasons ago the pitches were fine but something like 5/6 games were cancelled due to clubs concerns about ice around the stadium.

Good point. I guess a few might have moved early to get players like Fellaini before his price rise. I'm waiting until after the Chelsea game either way, Ba playing/not playing will make a difference in whether I even make a change this week or not.

I'm sh!tting myself over this to be honest. I blew my winter wildcard as it looked last week that the mild winter would continue. Now we have a coldsnap.

Was postponed due to waterlogged pitch and not a frozen one. Most clubs have undersoil heating and reason for postponements is mainly due to fan safety getting to/from stadia.

hoping for a West Ham QPR cancellation. And maybe a City Fulham one

I'd love if there was some postponed games this weekend, the people who kept their wildcards will have a big advantage.

Berba > Podolski is what I'm doing anyway, he should start both and has penalties with Arteta out.
