Just stumbled across this on Facebook. The idea of a 1 hour tan is music to my ears!

    Has anyone used it yet?

    The excitement! :-D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 561 ✭✭✭slowmoe

I used it this morning, i'm pretty happy with it, def comes up in the hour, you leave it longer if you want to be darker. The smell is fab though, no fake tan smell just like an exotic garden. I'm very very pasty pale so haven't a chance to properly check out the colour but so far its def replacing xen for me. Not sure yet if it will replace my fav hamptons but will see. Very very pleased for 8 euro!!!

Got sidetracked going out for dinner this eve so never got to buy a bottle. On my "to do" list though as soon as though ;)

How did everyone get on with this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 435 ✭✭MintyDoris

I've finally got a bottle of it and I'll do it tonight or tomorrow.

I'd really love to hear first hand how people find it

I would also love to hear how people get on with this. So many times I forget to apply tan in advance of a night out so this would be perfect for me if it works well.

I can't believe how cheap this is! Will have a scout around tomorrow for a bottle and report back!

My experience has been v good with Cocoa brown, lovely smell, v easy to apply and blend, and defo comes up in an hour, I did 3 hrs and mine is nice and dark, 3 days later its wearing v well, very happy with it for great price of €8, My other favorite tan is Boots own brand Soltan, but they have recently changed the ingredients of it and its horrible now, so I am ultra happy with cocoa brown, highly recommend:D

I hate fake tan, everything about it- the smell, waiting for it, the smell on my bedclothes, inevitably missing a part of my arm, the orange colour no matter how light a layer I put on and the tedious scrubbing in the shower for a week afterwards.

Cocoa Brown is AMAZING and trust me, I had zero expectations of this, I was putting it on thinking it was going to be terrible and it has completely swung me over.

It smells nice. It only took one hour to develop on my ghastly pale skin and is a really nice shade (not orange in the slightest). It faded nice and evenly over the course of a week. It's tinted so you can see where you are putting it.

I love this stuff, will definitely encourage me to tan more. For 8 quid a bottle, it is amazing.

Even if you hate fake tanning like I do, try this and i guarantee you will be impressed!

So I just finished washing this off. Left it on for an hour and ten.

Not hugely impressed with it. The colour isn't dark at all really. In fact, I left a big patch on my back clear were I couldn't reach and its doesn't look obvious at all (meaning that the tan isn't dark).

I thought if you wanted it dark you leave it on for three hours? I don't think its supposed to be a super dark tan

But there doesn't seem to be a colour at all and I'm really pale so I should see something at least. The colour looked lovely before I washed it off.

I'll try it again for longer but kinda defeats the purpose of a 1 hour tan then.

I used this last night and I am impressed! I left it on for an hour and ten and it came up as a natural light tan. It's a perfect winter time colour, I am converted.
The one hour thing is great, minimal planning ahead for a night out and minimal waiting about and avoiding water time. Yup, thumbs up from me!

Where is this for sale? Had a look on the FB page but can't find the list of shops. Preferably somewhere in North Co. Dublin.

Gonna have a comp for this girls in the next week or so on my blog so keep your eyes peeled!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 435 ✭✭MintyDoris

For the price you pay and the time you leave it on for, I think this is an amazing product.

My hands werent great but the skin on my hands is very very dry right now

The hour gave me a slight tint of colour that took away the milky blue paleness of my skin in winter and I havent noticed the fade at all

I thought when I started breadstfeeding that tan was out the window for a while but this is great. Would love to see what three hours developing does

I tried this last night. It has a very pleasant smell not overpowering or biscuity at all. Went on very well it's well coloured so you can see where you are applying and it's easy to spot bits you miss. I left it on for close to 2 hours even though i'm very pale as I read reviews that it's light in colour. It was a lovely colour as it was developing but when washed off it was very very light. I will definately try again and leave on for the 3 hours to get more colour. I also have very sensitive skin and didn't have any itching etc that I get with most other fake tans.

I tried this again and left it on for 2 hours this time. Darker colour came up.

I like this tan. It goes on easy and dries quickly but I don't think it could replace my Wow Brown or my spray tan for nights out.

It will replace my Dove or gradual tanners etc though which I'm quite happy about.

    tried it last night.

Im in the 'm'eh' camp. Found it hard to spread out when I applied it so it was hard to see where it was on especially as no real guide colour. left an hour and a half and now im still pale, no noticeable tan except I've a patch on my elbow where its all jigsaw like!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 676 ✭✭✭Nickibaby*

Just an update I tried the tan again and this time left it on for 3 hours. Really lovely colour. I think it should be advertised as a 3 hour tan and not a 1 hour! Think this will be my new tan very even and natural looking and the no biscuity smell is really great. I found it very easy to apply too.

I've a question, would it be okay do you think just to leave on and not wash off for a night out? Or is there still too much of a fake tan smell?

Have to say thats one thing I loved about it - no horrible smell off it at all!

There really isn't a smell off it at all and it does stop developing after 3 hours. The only thing might be that it could stain your clothes but if you were wearing black it might be okay. If you can though i'd rinse it off after 3 hours and go out, it has a lovely colour after 3 hours.

Just a note the first time I put it on for about an hour and a half I used shower gel I thought this might have effected the tan developing so this time I just showered it off with warm water and showered the next morning using shower gel!

Tried it the other night before a night out. It's not great...

These pics are before tan, after 1hr15mins developing time and a shower, then a further 22hrs later:

On the plus side it is easy to use, not messy or streaky, dried quickly and had a pleasant smell. For me I think I would need to apply several layers before I got the cocoa brown colour that is mentioned on the bottle.

Finally got around to trying this last weekend and i have to say, i found it absolutely fantastic! There is a slight colour when you first apply so you can be sure you got everywhere, no horrible fake tan smell at all, and the colour is perfect for me. It came out even and streak free. I'm extremely pale and my skin generally doesn't take tan well but i love the colour this gave me( i left it on for about 3 hours). I put it on on Friday, and after 2 showers i still have a fairly noticeable tan today. I will most definitely buy this again.

Only thing i did find was that it does rub off slightly on lighter clothes, but a small downside when you take everything else into consideration. Most definitely worth €7.99 imo.

I just bought this yday, I left it on all night as I wanted to see how it would be to wear out etc. Very impressed, I'm very curious how dark it would be if I washed it off after only 2hours now!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 241 ✭✭shoos

So overall people would recommend leaving it on for 3 hours as opposed to 1?

I've very pinky, white skin and unless I go a few shades darker (a la Sally Hansen light glow, I love that stuff) I don't feel comfortable showing me legs! :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 472 ✭✭smilerxxx

I couldn't wait to try this. So here's my view. First of all it was simple to apply and a beautiful smell. I started to get excited. I left it on for 3 hours, actually about 3 and a half hours. I washed off the guide colour which I really wanted to keep :-) and then ..... NOTHING! I had zero colour, I was very disappointed. However I wasn't going to give up without a fight and the next day I did another coat. Another 3 and a half hours later I was slightly bronzed but needed to top up with Sally henson. Now I don't want The geordie shore glow or Willy wonka's employee of the month but I do want a golden dark tan. I'm starting to give up :-(

My review may sound bad but the product is beautiful, I am going to use it again but it's not the convenient new tan I thought it would be. I still need the undercoat, The gloss and a rub of Sally to look far from my decomposing usual tinge.

Disclaimer I am auburn (think isla fisher) with brown/black eyes so I crave darkness

Finally got my hands on this and tried it at the weekend. Loved the product itself its a proper mousse same consistency of hair mousse and has a good guide colour. I left it on for over 3 hrs a lot of the guide colour did wash off but was still left with a natural glow.I used it again the next night and left it on for 3 hours as well and the colour was a lot better. I didn't use it on my legs yet mind, they don't take tan well so will be interesting to see.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,578 ✭✭✭Scraggs

I was so excited to try this but was not impressed with it at all. While it does apply nicely I found the colour change to be barely noticeable even after leaving it on overnight. Fine if you're looking for a subtle glow I suppose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 289 ✭✭ChloeElla

I love this tan. I'm beyond pale (paler than Mac NC15) so I don't want an extremely deep colour, but I want more than a gradual tanner. I left it on for two hours & it developed like this:
    x+966-horz.jpg

I'm more than happy with it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,281 ✭✭✭Valentina

Looks lovely on you ChloeElla. I'm going to give it another go and leave it on for 3hrs.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,448 ✭✭✭✭Cupcake_Crisis

This may sound a bit weird, but has anyone noticed that the older your bottle is the more noticeable the smell of the tan is? Like, when i first put it on from my brand new bottle there was absolutely no smell, about 4-5 weeks ago. I put it on this weekend, same bottle, and could definitely get a slight fake tan smell!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 302 ✭✭maggie_cork

was in the chemist last week and was buying a different tan. lady in chemist mentioned cocoa brown so decided to get it instead of what I had..
    It was a great buy
So nice on.. nice golden brown, its moose and its easy to see when applying it
    it gives great instructions
ive had on 3 days now and still nice even after showers.
great buy and great value for money

I have to say, I'm definitely very impressed with this. I have pretty dry patchy skin and previously when I had tried fake tans they just clung to me and looked terrible :( Whatever formula Cocoa Brown is, it's really non-drying and gentle on my skin and makes it look extremely smooth! I have to say I did notice as some people are saying, that there's practically NO tan left after showering, however I just forgot about it and after a couple of more hours I noticed I was lovely and glowing. I read up on it and it says to note that tan continues to develop after showering, so was definitely glad that it hadn't just disappeared
