Grown adults who call their parents Mummy and Daddy really, really, creep me out.
    It's a very northern thing.

Am I supposed to get the wink? Granny isn't used in my family so always sounds odd to me, it's not as stupid sounding as Mummy and Daddy coming from people over 30 though.

Ella none of the people I know who do it are Northern!

It's really common in the midlands too, I know plenty of grown adults who say Mammy and Daddy.

    Don't you shower regularly?

I shower every day, sometimes twice a day, but a long nice shower is still something I look forward to after a crappy day at work :)

I call my mother Mum, most of the others call her Mammy, when we are slagging her we call her her first name

As Ella said, it's a really northern thing. Most people up there do it, it's not stupid for them, it's just what they're used to.

I call my Mam by our surname when i'm slagging her. If i called her it now she'd reply without thinking.

Whispered why are you backing away slowly, I just don't get what the wink meant in her post?

It's a cultural thing, don't think it's all that strange really.

I had a small car crash thing on Sunday evening. My mum made me have a bath to relax my muscles because I was in shock. Didn't realise for ages that I was going bright red, had the water waaaay too hot :o
