    I've seen how it can affect people beyond the obvious. Mate of mine in the building trade(godluvhim) often has trouble matching quotes because other guys are quoting way below him because they have the guarantee of the dole as steady "income", so they can undercut. Him being self employed is being screwed anyway, but being honest too? He's in trouble.

    Another guy I know(and know well enough) is fiddling the system for all it's worth. Has huge tiger cub debts, has walked away from most of them, is getting a pretty good chunk of cash from the social welfare and is working nixers with it. He's rarely at home he's working so many. I kid thee not. I truly couldn't believe how obvious he was and how obvious his secondary income is, yet he was given the money. The details(which I won't post here for obvious...) would truly flabbergast you. Worse I know he was reported and they "investigated" him and he got away with it, when Stevie effin Wonder could have spotted the problem.

    On the other hand I know a fair few people on welfare who aren't being dicks, who are being honest and are barely able to keep the wolf from the door. A couple, near starving themselves so their kids can eat. The bastard cheats need to be ripped a new one and the people responsible for checking them need to be upgraded to people with two eyes and a brain.
