A friend has got it and said the wifi is shocking. He is sending it back. Thinking of cancelling

Can anyone provide an indication as to how long between the initial order and finding out if you are successful.....or have failed miserably?

    Placed an order today.

    Really?

My mate has one with no issues, lovely handset.....

Surely if there is wifi issues it will be sorted in the next update?

No wifi issues with mine and been using over a month.
Used with wifi at home, in Irish office and in offices/hotels/conference centres around europe and no problems.

Maybe his mate needs to check his router or particular phone.

Me too, never noticed any issues around the house, other than not working down the far end of the house - but the laptops/phones are the same.....

Probably about time I invest in a homeplug.... :)

Interesting, I've the N4, and my daughter has the N7, and neither has presented any issues using wifi yet.

Do you have any more information about the issues? At lot of wifi issues are simply down to noise with everyone in the area tending to use the same wifi channels... Definitely worth a look at the Wifi Analyzer application to see if there is congestion in that area.

Another could be trying to run with 802.11n and 802.11g mixed when only g tends to be available. If that's the case, you could try turn off support for n in the wifi/advanced menu and see if it helps.

Hey thanks. Just checked a few websites it seems there is quite a few issues. Mate rang google and they acknowledge problem. Seen that they may introduce update in a few weeks to address it.

Looking over the spreadsheet is seems anywhere from a day to a week.
MiCr0 might be a special case because of the stock shortages.

Emm... hope I'm not the bearer of bad news...

My Parcel Motel account was debited by 3.50 today. Neither of my two google orders looks to be anywhere near shipping, so I suspect that this has nothing to do with a Nexus 4 arriving at my PM address. (I've never used PM for anything else.) But I don't know what it *could* be, unless it's just a glitch in PM's system.

Has anyone else seen an *unexpected* debit on their PM account today?

I havent, balance on it is €3.50, which is one of my 2 freebies.

I think a few people on HUKD have had theres shipped without receiving shipping emails from google, maybe one of the orders was sent already....

I placed two orders 5 days apart with similar setup to yourself and both are stuck in the same pending/pre-order state. By any chance did you receive the status update "Google Inc. has received your order" on either order? From looking online, most shipped orders seem to get this on the same day they order the phone but I haven't got that yet on either orders, all it says it that 'You placed an order with google commerce....'

What part of the country are you in?

I just got a PM notification, too. Neither of my orders are showing as shipped yet, though, so I'm not getting my hopes up. My best guess is that the bank has just sent a letter to my card's new billing address, despite telling me that they wouldn't do that.

Then again, lots of people seem to have been debited or got notifications. Maybe PM got a whole batch of Nexus 4s today.... :-)

    (But I doubt it.)

Will post again shortly - heading off to the filling station soon....

Nice! yours was shipped on the 4th, yes? Mine was shipped the 5th so am holding out for that precious PM text.

    Hey all,
Has anyone ordered successfully using a new google account? (Phone on the way, or in your hand)
If so, did you use your Irish address with UK postcode for your billing address?
Or did you use the parcel motel address for billing?

I know it seems fairly random who gets cancelled, no matter what method is used, but I'm desperate to get one at this stage :pac:

My third attempt  - still pending, trying a new UK account with a credit card this time, I'll update it whenever the status changes or if it gets cancelled due to the wrong direction the wind blows

My first order (Jan 31) never got beyond the initial "You placed an order..." message. It's still in that state, with "Pre-ordered" in the Play Store orders list.

The second order (Feb 6) got both of the messages you mention - the "You placed an order..." and "Google Commerce Ltd received your order." Both appeared within moments of me placing the order. In the Play Store it shows as "Shipping estimate: February 21, 2013".

Hurry up Parcel Motel and text me.
Probably wont be til 7am tomorrow at this stage .
I didn't know they sent out notifications at night. I've got about 6 deliveries via PM and they were all 7am texts.

I only ordered this afternoon and just got an email from google saying my order has been shipped.

Added parcel motel address to my mastercard and then added that card with PM address to google wallet.
    Woo.

Hmm starting to wonder if I should cancel my outstanding order and try re ordering, mine hasn't got the your order has been received and it's been a few days.

Think I must have skipped the queue. I was expecting similar delays

Maybe they cancel orders if people check their wallets too often!! :D

Maybe I could ring google and tempt them with a little offer :pac:

I have already tried that but they just send you a message saying they can't cancel your order - "At this point it is no longer possible to cancel this order. Your order is processed shortly after your purchase is complete. Our expedited order fulfillment process ensures that packages are delivered quickly, which also means that there is a very short window of time to cancel an order prior to our shipping provider moving forward with delivery."

My order still has not been received by Google...
