I'd like to see Gervinho given a go down the middle. Poldi and gibbs have a great partnership so I can see him moving into the middle often in the game

Arsenal's Starting XI: Szczesny; Jenkinson; Vermaelen; Mertesacker; Gibbs; Coquelin; Arteta; Cazorla; Gervinho; Podolski; Chamberlain.

Giroud and Mannone dropped to bench, Diaby out.
Unoffical, but seems good, great chance cor Coquelin to shine after his comments to be a regular for the team.

We've never gone four games without conceding at the start of a season in the top division.... Let's make some history today ;)

Just looking there as well according to Opta, Southampton have allowed their opponents more shots on target against them than any other team in the Premier League...

I hope he has Giroud up top to get him a goal and settle.

If that team is right then I think it's great for Coquelin but not very good for Giroud confidence-wise. I would have definitely played him in this game to give him the chances he needs to score.

Starting XI to face Southampton; Szczesny, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Coquelin, Arteta, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho, Podolski

Subs; Koscielny, Santos, Giroud, Walcott, Ramsey, Arshavin, Mannone

    COME ON ARSENAL!!

Yeah hang off lads, Southampton can put it up to the top teams.
If we only let in 2 goals against them, I'll be very happy.

As it stands we're 2nd. Not to shabby for a team of no hopers.

Looking at the starting XI I wonder did Podolski or Gervinho start up top?

    6-1
We played fantastic without exerting ourselves too much.
Gervinho was very good, great to see him get two.
I think Wenger dropped the ball a bit not starting Giroud, could've got some confidence out there today.
    Scezeney was worrying.
Both Arteta and Cazorla were excellent, it goes without saying so far these first few games
It's been a great start to the league so far.

    Agree with everything you're sayin

have to say, I thought Mert and Gibbs were v good too. Southampton came at us a bit in the 2nd half and we coped fairly well.

After all the crisis and meltdown talk about where our goals are going to come from... best goal difference in the league now.

The defence was as good as every other game so far.
    Consistency is back, magic.

Don't get carried away yet. Southampton are relegation fodder for sure.
