Well we've more points now after four games than we did after seven games last season. Good omen.

After all the crisis and meltdown talk about where our goals are going to come from... best goal difference in the league now.

Goal difference and goals scored are two different things. :pac: When we do it against teams who set out to defend I'll stop worrying. :)

Don't get carried away yet. Southampton are relegation fodder for sure.

I think you are wrong there, they haven't been great a defending for sure, but they will score against many a team in this league.
We can put it up to City as we did last season, and we are even stronger this time round.
The team we beat 6-1 could score against them and worry them, I'd say we will do the very same.;)

Based on the first four games defensively and how we produced against City in both games last season I would be confident going into it. Our link up play has improved as well. There really is a lot of pluses with this team at the minute.

Great win. The team are really gelling and so soon. Really want Giroud to score soon. He is showing so much promise. Getting into so much good positions. He should give Walcott a bollocking for not getting that ball to his feet.

As for being contenders?....When old red nose starts slagging us off again ill know we're back :)

Really good performances again from Jenks and Gibbs today , Mertesacker still worries me though against some of the better teams..

Overall really pleased with the result , See the bench compared to last year its bloody unreal , Theo is gonna have to earn that payrise cos Ox is lightyears ahead of him

    Gervinho 2
    Podolski 2

    Walcott 1
    Cazorla 1

I am not saying that we won't beat City but they will be a different challenge to what we played today. I would be happy with a draw and delighted with a win. We will play a counter-attacking game against them and that suits us. Here's hoping.

    Mert was again brilliant.
Jenkinson was good but needs to improve his passing.

Good result today. How did Giroud play? Or did he play? I bet he'll get his first midweek against his old club. Confidence will be high going into City game next week

Well of course it will be a different challenge, they are the champions :D
We still cam out of the game better than united or City could manage and that says something about a team that is gelling.
I think right now is the best time to play City.

He really struggles with square balls. Don't know why that is but he needs to work on it before teams penalize us for it.

And those who were flipping out after our 0-0 at stoke should take note of City's match there today.

I know its easy to get ahead of ourselves after that performance but i think we're the the greatest ever team to have played the game called football.

Get your sh1t together pal, you obviously have never seen the Midleton U-14's team of 1996.

That was a team that had everything, fresh water at half time, communal showers/toilet, jerseys that were older than most players and a manager that chose players based purely on their height/width...........Very much like modern day Stoke City.

Do those other two goals count as assists for Gibbs? :D

Only seen the highlights but that was a beauty from Podolski. City and United both struggled against Southampton and we didnt seem to have any trouble with them. I (and many others) said the goals would come after a few games, not doing too badly with defence either. The goal we did concede was poor but Szczesny and Jenkinson pretty much got in the way of each other. It happens unfortunately.

Ah yes middleton u14 though if memory servers me right players selection was based on whos fathers drank with the manager...Very much like a harry redknapp team.

Premier Soccer Sat on RTE 2 just showed about 3 mins of the match today FFS. Maybe we need to be a racist or something.
