Fabs got booed as he was substituted on saturday night.

Cazorla's having a cracking start to the season, the only thing than stop him is if the g neville comes out of retirement and phil goes on loan to united and they kick lumps out of him with scholes. Poor old reyes. Can't believe we were the only ones in for him.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind Ramsey getting a start actually, he's looked good when he's come on.

Would like to see Giroud start against his old club too.

Szczesny out of champions league match

    http://www.breakingnews.ie/sport/soccer/szczesny-out-of-champions-league-tie-567266.html

Has he been dropped I wonder? Surely he would at least make the bench if that was the case

Just reading Arseblog there and he mentioned at the end that Wenger is banned for the first 3 CL matches! Id forgotten about that TBH. So Steve Bould in charge. Will it make any difference you think? Or will Wenger just whip out a phone and text him what to do?

Wenger looked vicious after the clanger on saturday, its says something when we were 4-0 up at the time. Still say its an injury or something related.

I don't think Wenger would drop him completely from the side for one mistake.
    Has to be an injury.
If Mannone gets a clean sheet, i'll be his biggest fan.

I'm with you but he dropped jens fairly lively after the blackburn cock up.

Well Jens was too handbaggy aswell lets not forget, always looking to be in the limelight.

I'd say it was a hard call to drop Mannone and probably decided whoever doesn't play on Saturday, plays tomorrow to try keep them both happy.

And had Almunia first choice for about three years.

So he can't be that unforgiving towards goalkeeping cockups.

    Almunia. What was that about?

don't think it'll make a whole lot, he'll be doing something like you say or else having someone else do it thats beside him, running up & down or going down at HT for him.

i'm nearly sure it's different rules in UEFA comps. than the PL, i think in the PL the banned manager is allowed in at HT + maybe before the game & in UEFA their not, something like that anyway

i remember hearing that mourinho supposedly got into the chelsea dressing room at a CL game in a laundry basket when he was banned :pac:

Sure wasn't Wenger banned for an extra game after he texted Pat Rice during a game last time he was banned, dunno if he'd be doing that again

I hope Mannone doesn't have a repeat of his last CL match. Czsz must be injured not to make the subs bench. Lets hope we win handily and have no injuries.

There's few things I'd love to see more than Cesc back in an Arsenal shirt. I was at the game in Gdansk for Spain and I must say, despite the fact that it was against Ireland and rounded off a horrible night for us, it still brought a smile to my face to see him get a goal.
That said, with Santi looking as good as he does, I dunno if Arsenal would go in for him really. We have the option to buy him back for the 35 million if Barca choose to sell him, lot of cash to pay for a guy we may not necessarily need.

Who cares if we "need" him or not, Cazorla & Fabregas in the same team??? drooling-6.gif

Genuinely didn't realise that was a mistake, thought it was something to do with him being Spanish

Good reswult tonight. Means Newcastle drop points and Everton don't skip us in the table. :)

Enough with the Fabregas coming back talk, it will NEVER happen.

Mannone has chance to become number one tonight.

To be honest that scares the crap out of me

    Why?
He is older than Scezeney, and we never have really seen him be number one for any period of time.

I think the reason we haven't seen Vito much is because he is not really good enough. To be fair to him he kept a couple of clean sheets so far and he has been doing the basics right (which has was a lot more that Woj done on Saturday) but he is a nightmare waiting to happen. For example I wouldn't let him near the pitch for the Man City game.

Woj did have a disaster of a game on Saturday but you gotta go with him every time unless he suffers a consistent loss of form. If so, by all means cut him loose and try something different but we are nowhere near that stage yet with him.

Arsene's comment about there being genuine competition for the No. 1 spot was I think designed to give Woj a kick up the arse as opposed to being a ringing endorsement of goalkeeping skills of one Vito "Corleone" Mannone

Anyways can you really trust a keeper with a nose like that??

    I didnt think so
