Could you clarify or expand on how it is relevant or connected to Christianity (the discussion of Christian issues), please? I fail to see any connection.

Christianity disapproves of homosexual behaviour. This may have inspired who ever was responsible for this, (if there was something to be responsible for), or contributed to a climate where an individual felt that this was an appropriate or required action.

There are plenty of very militant Christians when it comes to the issue of homosexuality, particularly in less mainstream varieties.

Edit to say that I am not necessarily agreeing that the above is the actual cause but its a possible connection.

Couldn't a Mod just delete that post? and send a warning to the user? it's obvious this "Kalman" wrote for no other reason then to incite prejudice and intends never to return to qualify any sort of discussion about it.
It is the discourse equivalent of <snip> on someone's door and running away, or shouting the N-word from a car window as it zooms by (or holding up a "god hates fags" banner).
It serves no purpose in discussion, he/she is clearly not trying to have a conversation, it is not a worth-while post and to be honest, it just serves to disrupt the topic.
There is no reason malicious vox-pops like this should be left up.

Donal Óg is on RTE 1 now, a programme about being gay, how people feel about being gay. He's In Russia, visiting gay people and showing how anti-gay activists are backed up by Russian law and police non-action against people attacking gay people. He's also in the BeLonGTo offices and a school in Donegal where it's teen pupils and teachers are discussing the topic of gay people and homophobia/language.

It's dancing-in-the-street day, wishing all my straight relatives, friends and acquaintances of whatever belief a merry Dublin Pride day, ditto to all taking part in London Pride today as well. and a BIG thank-you to all those who voted YES, or didn't vote NO, on the marriage issue. Get your walking-shoes on, moisturizer on, water bottles filled, cameras ready & packed. Choose your costume well, don't want to scandalize the straight-laced chaps................. too much, lol.

If you need a laugh, watch this version of GUBU. It's even better than something Waterford Whisper could come up with.

    Is it over?

The levels of smug in Dublin's city centre must have been off the scale.

The happiness even got to the door of No 23 Merrion Square yesterday. It amused me somewhat. I don't know if there was anyone in at the time though. For info of the residency occupiers, this refer's: https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCsQFjAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FIona_Institute&ei=iNiPVfjTNsKuU8DdgYAE&usg=AFQjCNGXfLMqosuwsIpUReAC9EXr9P5qOg&bvm=bv.96783405,d.bGg.

Is YD also residing at No 23?

No, they're on Capel St, I think they're across the road from a gay bar.

As far as I know, their place on Capel St is long since gone, and it wasn't a gay bar, it was Outhouse which is Dublin's LGBT community center. Still, it was amusing.

Yes, the Life House people moved to Merrion Square months ago. Their former offices are being renovated, hopefully the Red exterior is given another colour with the makeover. The bar, the Black Sheep (formerly a gay bar - YELLO -some years ago) directly across the street from the Outhouse on the other corner is open to all comers.

Edit:maybe I'm wrong about the former residents of the Life House moving to Merrion Square, given the details about two Life-related groups residing at Gardiner Place

Let me guess...they moved to 23 Merrion Sq?

YD have indeed moved from Capel Street.

Their website gives their current address as 6, Gardiner Place. This is also the address of an outfit called LifeZone ("Ireland's #1 source for pro-life information") and another outfit called the Life Institute ("committed to building a Culture of Life in Ireland").

(6 Gardiner Place is or has been home also to a number of completely unrelated organisations - a firm of accountants, a translation service, and more. The building is divided into a number of self-contained office suites which are let separately. So just because an organisation has an address at 6 Gardiner Place doesn't mean that they have any connection with Youth Defence.)

I picked up this video on facebook. The F/B mention had it as Belfast Pride but it's obviously not. How-ever it's the big question asked by the speaker that it's all about.

Do you think Dublin Pride is at risk of going down the same path? I'm mindful that the 2nd half of our movement (the B and the T) haven't got as far in law advances as the L and G part have, though overall we have a way to go yet.
