so I am guessing the over-clocking has improved performance and that issue is now gone

yes and MPEG2 License will do the trick

    One more thing..

Are you wired or wireless? ..my setup is across GB wired LAN

Over locking helped. Bought a MPEG 2 licence last night. Tried it this morn. Still can only import the client MPEG 2 epg but no picture . What could it be?

    Are you getting sound?

Are you able to stream to other devices (phones, tablets etc)?

correct username and password for the stb entered into the xbmc add-on ?

I'm having a similiar issue on my pi. I purchased the MPEG2 licence.

I can stream HD channels (some better than others), but with the SD channels, only the sound comes through. It's a pity as SD channels would suffice for my needs and i'm guessing they wound be better quality.

Would having the pi set up to 1080p have anything to do with it?

I have the Vu+ app going on my Nexus 4 & 7 with no issues. I tried using the addon in XBMC on my Nexus 4 but it crashed when i get to the point of trying to stream (I'm using Gotham). I'll install XBMC on Nexus 7 when i get home and give it a whirl to see what happens.

    .

go to audio options on the channel and change HDMI to Optical and see what happens.

I use Dreamdroid to stream to my Android box and watch on the projector. Works perfectly on sd channels but struggles on Hd.

That'll be down to your wireless, use Ethernet, should have no problem on wired

Na, Tried that also. Seems a few people have the same issue, wonder if it's an actual issue with the app itself.

It could be the hardware. Try the Vu+ app and use the inbuilt media player. My Nexus 5 handles HD perfect, over wireless even

Hi I recently purchased an Amiko alien 2 box. I upgraded to enigma 2 images (both ARP and one from TV trade). I tried following Tv trade's instructions for installing the enigma 2 image but kept getting the following error message:
"Failed: STBID unmatch" when trying to upgrade from usb > the app+Db+plugin, and cant go any further. I know what my STB ID is obviously, so i dont know why this error message comes up - do i have to modify files before trying this option?

After much looking around on the web i came across an official Amiko produced file which i used to successfully get the ARP Enigma 2 Image loaded on, but it will not scan in any of the saorview channels. It will show the rte channels after an auto scan, but these are all scrambled and are from the astra satellite (i.e. sky's channels). i've selected a manual and automatic scan on the terrestial feed alone and no joy. The saorview channels worked ok on spark OS before i uploaded the enigma 2 image and also work ok on an in-built tv tuner in another room in the house, so signal strength is not a problem.

Has anybody else any problems with scanning terrestial fed saorview channels on an enigma two image or are there some settings somewhere that i have to change in order to be able to scan-in the saorview channels?

    v. annoyingconfused.pngconfused.png....want HD saorview and 7 day EPG on UK FTA channels, but at the moment its either one or the other - booting from spark or from the enigma image.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

There is a problem with openarp, some people can only pick up one mux meaning only half the saorview channels will be picked up. Is this what your getting? To date there hasn't been a solution found. Flashing an image other than openarp would be your only option.

Are you definitely scanning dvb-T? And not dvb-c. C is for cable, T is the one you would need to be scanning

The bug in open arp us only in champions latest image. Find the frequency for the channels used on the mast you are receiving Saorview from and do a manual scan on that frequency with the bandwidth set to 8mhz
    http://www.saorview.ie/get-saorview/make-the-switch/coverage-map/
    http://www.saortv.info/terrestrial-saorview/tuning-saorview/

Failing that try copy across the terrestrial.xml in my download folder in my signature, reboot and set the tuner to Italy in tuner configuration, then do a full terrestrial scan.

definitely scanning DVT. after a full automatic scan of all tuners, i've tried a manual and automatic scan of just the DVT tuner alone (easy to recognise as the other two feeds are the satellite/cable feeds into the box)

I'm new to this so sorry if this sounds stupid, but when you say 'flashing an image', i presume you mean putting the image files on a usb in a folder named 'enigma2' and booting up the box using the manual procedure which involves holding the ok button, waiting for 'FORC' to come up, etc.?

Tradetv have videos showing how to get enigma2 loaded on your STB using the 'upgrade from usb' and 'plugin' options from the spark menu, but as i said in my original post i cant get past one error message here (STBID does not match), so this doesnt work for me.

Same ol ****e - i tried the first thing you said there and no joy, so i might have a go at the second option you said tonight & i'll let you know. Again apologies if this sounds like an old person trying to use a computer for the first time but how to i access your download folder?! thanks

I'll post the location you copy the terrestrial.xml to later when I get home

Ext3 is faster on a Linux OS, just share it from the box with the samba plugin.

I have successfully loaded Enigma 2 on my AA2+. Quick question- do I need to do all this again if I want to flash the latest image...

"Then you need to install the e2upgrade plugin, it's available here in this pack. Extract the plugin to your desktop and use Filezilla to connect to your box and copy both the bin and keys folders to the /root/plugin/var directory (overwrite)."

or.. do I just boot into spark and load the 2 files from enigma folder and upgrade via usb??

It's not upgrade by Usb, that's for upgrading Spark. Open menu> plugins and run the e2upgrade plugin, point the path to inside your enigma2 folder and press red to upgrade enigma

Yip able to stream no problem from my linkstation. Can see the receiver in the windows network . Can't get audio or picture. Just the epg after it syncs with receiver. The Amiko aa2 is on champs arp imAge so root and no password. PvR client is vu+/enigma 2 . Streaming port is 8001 and web interface port is 80. I wonder is there another pvr client that would work.

I have never had any trouble with champs arp image and terrestial channels, when I load the image all the channels are there with no scanning needed, how does it work for me and not other people?? mine is a sab and using the same mast as champ if that makes any difference

You must be on a non AA+ box and receiving your signal from the same mast

Yeah that's right, it's amazing how an image can give some many different results depending on the box and location

Sorry lads one other thing, the only complaint I would have about enigma is the volume issue, I still can't adjust the settings to get it right, has anyone come up with a setting that is universal or does in depend on the TV? I tried running the box with the two phono (?) cables via an amp and a hdmi cable to the TV but when I change channel I get a small bang type sound from the amp, any ideas? Thanks, nigel
