Are you sure you are pulling the channel list from the box and not from a saved backup on your pc? Very odd that you would not be able to upload. Also check your lan cable incase its popped out. Most likely is something small causing it.

I haven't tried yet, but had no trouble getting it working on ChampionC's image.

You probably don't have a static IP address for the Alien 2 on your network.

I think the default network name is STLINUX, maybe you can try that instead of the IP address.

For me, I'm a techy and all my devices have static IP addresses including the Alien2 boxes.
I configured this on my router, so no matter how many times I reboot each Alien2 box has it's own predefined IP address.

You probably don't have that, so when you reboot your Alien 2 is given a different IP address each time.

Hi, yes it's pulling from the box, no hassles there. When it try to upload it shows uploading, then it says on the log disconnecting.....disconnected. then it says that there was a problem with the upload check your ip, etc etc.

I'm using a static ip, so it's not as if that's changing everytime. I'll give it another go tonight and see.

It has to be something very small that's causing the issue, cos the ip test and username/password test all pass no problem with the dreamboxedit test buttons.

Are you using DreamboxEdit 5.3.1.6? If not download it here.

Not very elegant but you could manually copy the saved, edited files from the working folder on the PC to the AA2. Look for file names like "userbouquet.favourites.tv" and copy to etc/enigma2

I'm not at home so can't double-check but from memory Dreambox edit works for enigma & enigma2. Make sure u have enigma 2 selected.

There is another version by a different developer with the same name that's only on 3.0, that's why I'm wondering if its the version you may have.

success, working now, fair play techguy. when i upload and go to box and enter a channel number however i dont get what i look for. e. g 101 for rte one gives me itv4 now! How do i reset the bouquets to operate properly again as per channel number?

There may be an easier way but what I do is just run Autobouquet after sending over the file from dbedit.

Actually what I described won't work for you as you want a saorview channel on 101, Autobouquets will only sort the sat channel numbers. Not actually sure how to get saorvoew rte1 on 101. sorry.

Using TheTechGuy's Hyperion v3 January image (with thanks) and have the following issues:

RTE Player will not work, tried reinstalling plugin but no joy, had it working fine with earlier images and it's not the end of the world but it keeps the wife happy.


The deep standby issue is back for me, so I'm almost suspecting hardware at this point. To get around it, I've powered the GM Spark Triplex via a timed socket. So it kills the power once during the day for an hour and the box reboots, this seems to avoid the deep standby but I have two concerns:

1 - will a daily power cycle do any damage to the box?
2 - I have a portable hard drive connected for recording, so this obviously loses power too, am I asking for hard drive corruption at some point due to the daily power loss to this drive...?

It's looking like the attached now.

The channel picons are still appearing and the text at the bottom isn't 100%, the Red 'R' is out of place and the bouquet name isn't there.

I had to adjust a few of the font sizes to make it readable. Would the size of the TV matter?

To get rid of the picons go to cootv guide menu. Then set (2nd) 'Show Cool Pico..' to no and set 'Left Section Width' to 175. I also forgot to say that I changed the font on my whole skin to the Sky HD font, I think it looks much sharper. Download the font file from here and replace the font file in /usr/share/enigma2/Kerni-HD1R2/fonts. After a restart see if the 'R' button sits into place. If not then open the CoolNiceGuide_1280.xml (/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/CoolTVGuide/CoolSkin), find the 'Press select...' text and remove the spaces at the start ie the 4 spaces before Press....

Ok. Thanks for replying. Its a deal breaker for me if I change my image. 60% of the time I use my amiko it is to download from TS Media.

Anyone having the problem with TheTechGuys Image, where the SkyHD boot logo wont go off the screen? No matter what channel I select the boot logo remains. Even if I do a hard restart from the back, its there when I restart. I can hear the sound of the channel but the sky logo stays on the screen. Very strange. The only thing that removes it is a reflash.

I have experienced this as well, sound but no image! Initially when I used Techguy's Hyperion image, everything looked perfect, I could call up the RTE Player but it wouldn't play anything, stayed at 00:00.

For the first time using the Enigma2 image I got all the Terrestrial channels, which I couldn't get with the other images.:(

Yeah rte player stopped working for me a while back, Nutzz says he has rte player working on h3 but I haven't managed to get it working even with a copy of his rte plugin so it must be some other dependency he has installed that I don't.

Haven't come across the sky boot logo staying on screen. Maybe if you have the problem again you could ftp in to the box and replace the boot logo with the original. I haven't actually got a copy of that at the moment but I might try and get it over the next few days.

hey guys, I'm using one of Champions images on my Amiko Alien 2, have time**** enabled, but the buttons don't rewind or fastforward, they go to previous and next channel. Any idea how you can change this? I've gone into keymaps through system settings but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Think its the same on his image as mine, are you using page- and page+ as rewind/FF?

Yeah, I am, but when I press the page-, it goes to the channel that I was previously on.

Try pressing pause first and then page -. I needed to do that on some image before.
