    PS1 Sd-Card adapter coming out next year - http://psx-scene.com/forums/content/project-playstation-input-output-aka-psio-first-ps1-sd-card-hack-play-ps1-games-sd-2557/

No soldering, it'll plug into the IO port at the back. Definitely a yoink purchase given the utter rubbishness of Sony lasers
Will it be as rubbish as the DC one though?

No idea :) Though I think Docentore mentioned a while back that big improvements are on the way with the DC one

Oh wow, brilliant news! I was only thinking the other day that something like this needs to exist for the PS1.

If this and the DC ones come on leaps and bounds to play I'l be over the moon. So far I've only ever gotten one game to boot from the DC version.

I saved a hedgehog from the dog last night. First one I met in person and he didn't wear sneakers or listen to super cool rock music.
He did, however, curl into a ball and roll like a certain blue speedster.

That's pretty cool news. Reading the FAQ, sounds like it will be a plug and play type device - no need to mod the PS1 or anything?

So they say yeah, plug & play into the IO port at the rear. Sounds handy enough, if the IO port bus is fast enough for lag free gaming it'll be a cool solution

Very true, I wouldn't pay mega money for it. As mentioned, it'll depend on the performance

If you love the linear castlevania games (and if you don't why the hell not) then it's definitely worth it. It's a superb Castlevania.

I do have a predilection for Castlevania games, just a few of the reviews I read about it weren't that favorable not exactly bad but unimpressed.
Might be able to get one for €35, is that a decent price?

That would explain it. Obviously our obsolete computers can't handle the amazing photos from 2021

The price is very reasonable for sure, but then again, its hard to know what your getting from looking at the pics. Some of those US Snesii are horrifically yellowed

That one look to be fairly grey looking to me, anyone want to take a chance on it? :P

Some of the yellowing seems to affect only the bottom half of the consoles, others its everywhere & others its on certain panels. It really is a horrible cancer of plastic.

I'm not gonna bother with that one, if a seller can't be arsed taking even semi-decent pictures, it tells me enough that I'm happy not to deal with them

Well looks like Fire Emblem is coming to 3ds and also rumours of a new secret of mans game. I'm a happy camper.

Ignore the reviews. They all probably marked it down for being a 2D game on the playstation and a release of a retro game at that.

It's the only way to play the game that doesn't involve emulation that doesn't involve owning a X86000. It's a really good castlevania game thought, definitely work playing for fans of the series.

35 seems a little steep although I've not checked the prices, it was released as a budget game. Then I'd also recommend the NTSC version over the PAL version.

Reggie let it slip at E3 that it was coming before he should have. As for a new Mana game, I'm not interested unless it gets good reviews since the game sin the series have been appalling since Seiken Densetsu 3.

Children of Mana on the DS was tripe, boring as hell, regretted buying that one.

They've all been crap, Dawn of Mana was the worst. It's like Square got hold of the Havok physics engine and decided to try and make an RPG using physics, utter ****e. And you know what, Legend of Mana on the PS1 was pretty crap as well despite gorgeous music and visuals. The mana series is dirt now, I heard Square were finished with the series after how badly the last few games were. I hope they do something well good with it but I doubt it. One other worry is that it will be on the PSP and we'll never see it.

NTSC is always in mine when reading your posts Retro. Sadly I only have a pal system at the moment and not really looking to mod it as I only have the one but Strider 2 seems to be easier to get as NTSC as well.
Yeah a few of the reviews were knocking the graphics, guess it didn't help that there was another great Castlevania game on ps1 to compare agaisnt.
Kinda hard to judge price as I can only find a few BINs on eBay.

Yeah I've only played 1 and 2 ,or 2 and 3, and only flirted with sword of mana on gba. The others have such mad rep that I just stayed away.
    But I live in hope.

Well you can ignore the reviews criticising the graphics, Castlevania X86000 is an astounding looking 2D game. It was made after all on an extremely powerful piece of hardware and the SNES and MD wouldn't have a hope at running it.

If you are looking for NTSC Strider 2 one thing to note is that they printed the discs wrong. The strider 1 disc contains strider 2 while the strider 2 disc contains strider 1.

Sword of Mana is a remake of the excellent first game in the series that was on the Gameboy and they managed to make it worse. While the GB game (I think it was Final Fantasy Adventure in English) was an excellent fast paced game like Secret of Mana, Sword decided to flesh out the storyline with dialogue that is boring and takes forever to scroll through. My breaking point was when they spent 10 minutes discussing whether the main villian was evil or not. Nothing wrong there other than the fact that the main villian is called 'Dark Lord'.
