It's a good bunch of games, I got that golf game with mine when they launched and couldn't put it down. Great mix of games in that pack, there was a nice lot on Adverts a while back and it sold for 50 including post. It had the proper packaging and they were loose carts in the little plastic cases. How much are the looking for the blister pack?

the one I saw for sale was £80, so as I expected a bit overpriced.

yeah there was always two ways of playing FFX, with Yojimbo, or without Yojimbo.

Free games using digital download or they post you out physical copies? Anything decent?

I've been using my Vita an awful lot lately, it's far from a turkey. It's a great system with great games that just hasn't found the audience it deserves.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 34,754 CMod ✭✭✭✭CiDeRmAn

And I'm sure if you bought one at launch you'd feel just happy as a pig in the proverbial with your purchase....
And, since you own a CDi and extoll it's virtue at every opportunity, forgive us if we don't believe you! ;)

Actually, I would like one myself, but the price is still a little high for the amount of play it offers.
I have plenty of games on the 3ds that need attention, if I can't find time for Cave Story 3D it's unlikely Vita games are going to find themselves played.

What is the ratio of successful handhelds to turkeys?

Must be at least 10:1 - with that 10 being turkeys!

And yet companies keep creating them...

Nah all digital stuff. Some pretty ok looking stuff, but I agree with Cidey...the cost is just a little too high at the mo.

As an aside, there's an offer now running that when you buy 12 months of PS+ they throw in 3 months extra for free, all for €50. Free games every month for the PS3 & Vita too...its really good value

Lol I'm so out of the loop with all this PS lark. PS+?? Is that like Xbox Live Gold where you have to pay for online services? Or it's just cheaper games via online or something?

Yeah PS+ is the paid subscription to PSN, it throws a selection of free games at you every month & discounts off others. For example one of the free games next month is The Cave, that'll save me €13 buying that. Another is Virtues Last Reward & despite not having a Vita, I'm able to claim that game for when I do eventually get one. And another of next months free games is Okami HD...thats the subscription paid for itself already.

But, its all digital copies. I am yet to be convinced by console digital sales. When PSN is eventually discontinued for the PS3, and it will be, do we get to keep these games? If so, what happens if the hdd/console dies & there's no service to redownload what you own? Give me physical media every single time, but for the likes of The Cave & other digital only games...it makes perfect sense

@Enternow. ps+ the games are only downloadable for the month they're on offer AFAIK then they disappear and if you've downloaded the game that also goes.

Don't have ps+ myself, I prefer physical copies but it looks like a great service.
Everytime I buy a new game it appears on ps+ the next month for free:(

No once you've downloaded them or at least added them to your download list, they are yours for as long as your a PS+ member

Ah I see, I was wrong. Looks an even better proposition now once you keep up the subscription, nice.Even just on Vita alone it's great. I'll have to get a bigger memory card.

The cost of a memory card is a big negative for me in thinking about buying a Vita, the 32GB one is insane money

Off topic, but its general and "retro"ish.. ;) and im getting a bit of buyers remorse here at the minute and need some reassurance haha ..

i just spent a fair whack of money on 172 UK Run Transformers Comics...

Now, i dont have a clue about comics, but i loved these as a kid and have been thinking about picking them up for a while...

Does anyone know anything about comics here, specifically UK Transformers ones? How much would someone pay for 172 Marvel UK Transformer comics? :o

    I believe they run from issue 52 - 224 I think..

Yep big issue for me too. When I got my memory card at Santy time i was shocked at the price of the 8gb card at €40

I'd love to pick it up, will have to hurry up and finish Halo 4, trade in against it!
Bioshock Infinity is also beckoning though!

I think I still have issue 1 somewhere...

You'd best be asking on the Transformers forum:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=843

Some of the guys in there have scary amounts of knowledge.

Weren't you just arguing a week or two ago against digital download :p But yeah, it's a handy service. They keep releasing games I already have though :(

Possibly, I need a commuting game that isn't a time consuming RPG! Although I don't think I can resist Bioshock Infinite tomorrow, been waiting for that game for years. And can't get left behind by all the analysis and breakdowns of its ideologies and themes! [/nerd]

I let a full set, minus like 5 issues, slip through my hands on adverts for €80! Just couldn't get the funds together.
I've seen fairly big lots like yours pop on ebay before ranging from 100-200 euro. Now that was at least a year ago, so I'm not sure of prices now.
I think €200 max if they are fairly mint.

Next 3DS purchase is Fire Emblem and maybe Castlevania. Let the brother get Luigi and I'll 'borrow' it when he gets bored like Mario Kart, Tennis and New Mario 2. :D

amazon, not listed on gamestop. Just doesent feel like a castlevania game tbh, loads of silly quick time events ala god of war, very linear with little or no exploration and there's a bit of slowdown at times too. oh and theres far fewer enemies than other castlevainia's, i mean you can traverse 5 or screens with not a single enemy. It's still ok, not terrible by any means but just doesent feel right if that makes sense?!?

There's a demo of it to download from the eshop. It doesnt play well at all. Definitely doesnt feel like a castlevania game. More like a side scrolling God of War.
