Mine was £300, the original launch model. I remember buss'ing it into Virgin Megastore there on the Quays in town, handing over the dosh & taking my new prized possession home for some Dino Demo goodness

    Jesus christ!

I waited till the price dropped. Even at that, I couldn't afford any games and spent ages playing Mr Dino and Mr Manta Ray too. :D

Great demo disc so that was. Kept me entertained for weeks. I'd love to know how many times I played the Wipeout 2097 track and that lightgun level from Die Hard Trilogy.

I think after about another month I was able to finally afford Destruction Derby. Then Air Combat.

DD is a classic. Air Combat has aged woefully, have you seen it recently?

That really doesn't look too bad at all! I think when a lot of people remember the T Rex bit in Tomb Raider, their foggy memory is in fact remembering that far superior demo.

I'd say the last time I played either of them, the Celtic Tiger was in full swing and people were dressing like The Spice Girls :D

I never owned a ps1, rented it out for a tennee for a week a few times. Spent the whole week inside curtains closed with a few friends and just lived on penny jellies and sherbet.
I bought an N64 instead. Was the only kid with one a bit d had no where to rent games and my uncle had moved on so didnt get his hand downs. Buck Bumble, goldeneye, fifa, mario 64 and snowboard kids got me through to gamecube.
Disc based Nintendo console has to be better than ps2 and more popular and supported.

Ah yeah, they're easy enough to replace...just I'm really nostalgic when it comes to original items. Something special about having my original Megadrive still under the tv ;)

The can be easy to replace, but I've an odd way of going about it. I won't by them from ebay or anything like that. Instead, I'm constantly on the lookout in real shops for them. This has worked surprisingly well over the years (sepecially with PS2 games over the last few years). I;m not sure why exactly I do it this way. Thrill of the chase, perhaps? Or maybe because if I started on ebay, I'd have a hard time stopping. I'd hate to wind up starving to death because I blew all my wages on a few old games :p

I tried, I have to have a seller account to list an item at higher than $500 dollars. I don't have a seller account as I haven't sold anything on ebay :(

Videogames were about the only thing I didn't sell when I made the transition to girls and booze being cool.

I can remember my mam actively trying to get me to sell my Megadrive to fund a Playstation. So glad I didn't, would still be regretting it to this day.

I did, my mint condition Megadrive and SNES, some fo my SNES games looked like the boxes have never been open, was totally ocd about my games. the console had the box with the plastic and cable ties still inside

Post it onto me and I'll look after it for an astronomical fee.

This is crazy. My ebay account is 10 years old this June with almost 700 positive feedback...yet I haven't 'proven' myself enough to list something over $500.

What if you list an auction with the starting price at say $350 and then the bids go over $500?

Contemplated that, but the starting bid on the other auction was £399 and there was only one bidder :(

    He must be loaded.

You used to be able to click on bid history and see exactly who bidders were. Meant you could contact them directly in cases like this. Was great!

    IDs as hidden now :(

The PS4 is going to be a total failure.

It's based on PC architecture which meaning it's 64-bit and therefore only as powerful as the N64.

As power as the Atari Jaguar you mean?

    I dunno, that's pretty powerful.

All we need now is to learn that Jeff Minter is making the launch game for it, then we know it's doomed!

Why don't you upgrade to a sellers account, I sold a good few bits on it in the past of high enough value...I don't think they actually charge you to do it do they? Can't remember now

Ebay now have monthy limit on how much you can list to the value of. (500 dollars for beginner sellers)

Only way to get it higher is 'proving yourself" through lots of successful sales under that value.

I guess its to stop scammers. Severly hampers the likes of myself in these scenarios though.

More draconian bs by Ebay. Paypal are not better either

Would you look for a private sale on some forum maybe?

You used to be able to sell on that website where I have my cel gallery. But I got an email from an admin a few years ago asking me to remove any reference to selling as it was now against the rules.

There's a guy in the US with lots of money (!) that I usually sell to, but nothing as high as that one which just sold. That's astronomical. To put it in perspective, that particular cel cost me £30 a few years ago.

Would be amazing to sell it (and maybe another one) and immediately have enough for another cab!
