Well, speaking of jobs and interviews.
I'm starting a new contract on Monday morning after looking for a couple of months :)

Add HMV to your list, went to Gamestop and HMV this morning in Henry St, both said they're not getting it in. The lad in HMV was sound but he said he was blocked from ordering it in for me
This is one of the more reasonable prices I found with 99p P&P to Ireland.

    Play.com are looking for 58 euro:eek:

Cheers, I wanted to pickup something before Xmas as its a pain to get a decent contract in January/February.

Definitely, if you don't get something before Christmas you're pretty much screwed going into the near year :(

On a totally unrelated note, here's an interesting read for Rare fans. Remember the Nintendoplayer Sonic crackers article I helped out with? Well the owner of the site contacted me in relation to another proto he'd come across (DK III GB).

I'd mentioned before that I'd been in contact with that artist from Mean Machines sega - turns out it's the same guy the DK III GB proto came from. So managed to put the two of them in contact with each other. He got some interesting info from him (although rather horrifying too!)

My brain keeps telling me that I want to buy a WiiU for myself for Christmas.

My heart is telling me that I really shouldn't want to feel the pang of aftergimmicky regret just like Christmas 2006.

    What do?

I didn't find it in my local GameStop or Xtra Vision. It was INCONCEIVABLE!

As with every launch console you have to ask yourself if you can put up with it becoming a dust magnet until the good games come pouring in. Even the Wii which had a very slow start is now an excellent machine so it's not like you won't use it.

I'll definitely be holding out for a price drop anyway. Nothing really catching my eye with the wiiu launch line up so no point in getting it at launch.

So I have Pokemon prototype, test carts and related searches saved on eBay and this popped up: http://bit.ly/TQCFhE

    Price seems a little ambitious.

If you are a board game or Pokemon collector,

YOU MIGHT NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYES WHEN YOU SEE THIS!

Well Atavan, could you not believe your eyes?

Was in a club in London tonight where they had a MAME cab. I may have sneakily switched it to DinoRex and skulked away quietly.

Also Scoobius Pip played a Tetris dubsteb remix. As someone who despises dubstep and everything it stands for, it was still awesome.

My eyes LITERALLY popped out, melted and imploded in that order.

Actually never even heard of it tbh. Seems a bit odd as along with the R/B/Y and G/S/C, ruby and sapphire would have been out by 2004 and seems odd that they'd only use one of the original 151 as the board game characters. Then again if its a prototype, that could have been changed before a retail release.

You'd have imagined that they'd have offered free shipping, given they want your liver in part payment Atavan.... good thing they don't know about the condition of said liver!

It is a nice thing though.

So I just got the following PM from the rage:

    Hey Steve,

I believe Nicholas, our owner, would love to have a discussion with you at some point. Currently he is away in Guatemala, and may or may not be enjoying himself thoroughly (he's that kind of person). Regarding our prices, Nicholas has instructed us to use ebay & adverts.ie as a basis for pricing. This is painstaking for us employees as the prices are constantly fluctuating. I sense that you may have a solution that will change R.A.G.E. protocol permanently. Am I correct in this assumption or just caught in a moment of excitement and possible presumptuousness? It's all happening so fast! You seem to be an "ideas type of guy" and forthcoming in a way that commands respect. I will definitely inform Nicholas of this conversation in preparation of your conversation. Is that satisfactory?

I'm not sure whether to feel patronised or take them up on their offer. What do you guys think?

I just picked up a copy in the wild... in a Game

I think Game weren't exactly a great retailer on the whole in Ireland (still better than Gamestop ;)), but they did occasionally stock the odd niche title the other retailers wouldn't touch.

Its a smart arse way of telling you to fukc off imo. Seems a fairly immature response & I'd have thought with prices fluctuating so wildly they wouldn't have so much time on their hands to engage in that type of arsery. Still, its what you'd expect really

I drove past Bookmart and Gamesexchange and realised that, while he never had the largest range of games and sometimes the stock was priced oddly, at least he didn't treat us like "de enemy" or a resource to be exploited.
Must head in there, I saw an N64 in the window, I wonder what else he might have?

I was in gamesexchange during the week.
He had about 20 megadrive carts on the bottom of a shelf. FIFA 90 something for 14.99 and a load of other sport games for about the same (some a bit more and some a bit less).
Good few ps2 and original Xbox games but most overpriced. Quite a selection of modern games as well.

Quick question, anyone know how much an AGS101 is worth?

(First 'about 3 fiddy' comment is immediately banished to jammaplus!)

I got mine for about €60 or so posted from the States, the outside is a little scruffy but the screen is like new and now dodge pixels either.
No need to pay for the extra weight of a charger, seeing as it's pointless here as well.

    Here you go....
    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Nintendo-Game-Boy-Advance-SP-AGS-101-Pearl-Blue-Handheld-System-/150943002163?pt=Video_Games&hash=item2324e76e33#ht_3778wt_1397
Same version as mine and at €66 not bad at all.
You might get it cheaper at some point, but you'll only be saving something like 5 or 10 euro max on that, I'd say go for it.
The value does seem to be creeping up, the people who sold me mine have increased the price by $20 on what I was charged, for example.
