So here's my reply for those of you interested:

    Hi David,

I do have to thank you for your prompt and precise reply.

I look forward to speaking with Nicholas when he gets back from his trip where I will discuss all matters with him.

You will have to accept my most sincere of apologies for the lateness of my reply as I have been busy righting other wrongs in the vastness of cyberspace.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day of constant repricing of various rare gems and delights of the retro era to send me such a lovely message.

I look forward to hearing from you again.

Maybe I should switch to US Nes for a while. What you think retro, can I do that?

Prices on some games have gone mad. Just been looking at my archived purchases on ebay, never knew that was there, and it's shocking.
Sunset Riders cart got for less than €20 posted in 2010.
Megaman x2 and Terranigma each less than €50 posted and they came from Australia, so post was a bit more expensive.
    Boxed Super Castlevania for €40!

I know it is still possible to get thoose games on ebay for less but it's getting harder and harder.

Will the prices keep going up or will we experience a bust?

I know an Ebay seller that is making a small fortune right now because of the value of the against the $ and the st£. Thats good news for sellers and bad news for buyers. Most of his orders come from outside the euro zone. People are taking advantage of the weak euro. So you will find yourself being outbid simply because the other Ebayers have more buying power.

    A sample of the madness,
    Sunset Riders for the Snes.....
Right now on Ebay.ie we have the following
    Unboxed, Pal, €93.98
Boxed, VGA, NTSC, €393.38, another €40 in postage!
Unboxed, NTSC, €47, another €5 in postage, most common price for this region and unboxed.
    And my favourite...
A Sunset Riders manual only, €25, from a guy in Germany!

That was a big factor in why I became an elitist who's doing it wrong

Are they private emails between you and The Rage? If they are, I don't think it wise to post them up here. Especially since you asked for a "private debate" in your original message.

This isn't the aforementioned private debate that was suggested though, they are Facebook private messages.

My choice to post it where I please.

Yep I realise that. Sure good luck with your endeavour to enlighten them.

I havnt been buying any heaps of retro games for the last little while, few dribs and drabs. They are like fashion a accessory now for people and its so hip and trendy to have them. Hopefully soon it will die out!

Not too impressed with the latest Retrogamer magazine. Only read the Contra article but it's full of inaccuracies.

I fear that it will however be in vein.

My solution is actually simple economics of supply and demand. That's what they think they're doing at the moment but their price checking method as has been pointed out here numerous times has many flaws for many reasons.

I actually think my proposed solution would end up making them more money in the long run whilst also changing the situation for gamers for the better.

In all honesty, your completely wasting your time & energy. If they were any way serious about running the business properly, & maximizing themselves & their exposure, you wouldn't need to be communicating with them through a social networking website.

My solution? Buy elsewhere, its cheaper & easier :)

The only time I've ever bought from them is when they've mispriced some serious rare vinyl. Ironic really.

Ive been in a bit the last while, i find the prices decent enough for most games, especially now that prices on ebay etc have gone stupid. sure some games are overpriced, but factor in postage etc that you would pay online and i think most of them are fairly priced.

I was only in there at lunch looking at the NES games, I bought Boxed Alfred Chicken for 12 euro, I never seen it before online so said feck it ill get it. Just looking it up there and it seems to be a very good price for it in this case.

Their general pricing is decent enough some of the time for the games that everyone and their mother has... their problem is constantly shifting prices and mislabeling non rare titles as rare.

That's a pretty perfect way of describing it. I don't think it's going to get any quieter, though. We've got Wreck-it-Ralph on its way, which if it's any half successful, is going to broaden the hobby even further. I find that a bit of a good/bad thing, I suppose.

Same chap did one for Mother 3, which, unsurprising, made him something of a marked man. His actual commentary on the game was glib and unfounded, it was hard to take offense. Like most trolls, just a one-note contrarian.

I watched it for exactly 1:00 minute... which gave him 1 extra view for his ****ty video. Please don't make the same mistake I did, just ignore it.

Very useful resource for method acting if you needed to be REALLY pissed off for a scene in a play. Just stick on that video and away you go.

They got rid of the Darius Burst cab in Casino Goodge St :(

Really curious about where it's gone. I should have asked in hindsight. I dont like the thought of that rotting in storage somewhere.

Oh yeah...eugh. Could get worse before it gets better! Hopefully everyone will get really into minidiscs or something

There is one beside the Goodge street tube stop. Only was in London for a day so don't know of any other.

Goodge Street Arcade is fun to see, but the machines need to be kept in far better condition. Lots of the monitors would make you shed a tear.

Check out what someone posted over on AO. I thought Sega were the only ones to make crazy hybrid machines.
